This is a pretty good vise, but a better choice would be a Peak vise. The build quality of SF products does not seem to be very impressive.
Those are some pretty nice tools for tying! As for the bobbin and whip finisher, I was surprised at the quality at this price point. They are both in my opinion worth the price. I find the scissors to have greater finger holes than other brands I've owned, which is a major plus for people like me who have larger hands. The only problem I could find is that the tools were all loose in the case it came in. It's still a very simple set of tools, but it's a decent price. Shipping was probably the cause of the damage. The tool kit is very useful for fly tying and I am happy with it other than that.
If you have them, you will be fine. Out of the gate. As a child I had a bobbin that I had for over 20 years, so I have a backup as I mentioned earlier. Handle pliers, scissors are the tools I use the most, and it comes in a handy Amazon will not really be able to do much more than it is currently doing. There is enough in it for you to get Visit a specialist website if you want quality.
It is a decent set for the price, though the tools are a bit overpriced. I wish it came with better hackel pliers, but they do the job fine, and the case too is pretty cheap. It is a great purchase for beginners, I can't argue much with that.
Adding to your budget set collection, this product is not the best quality, but if you're looking to get going with a set, this one may work. Among the missing pieces was a set piece that I did not mind since I do not use it. However, the most acute omission was the missing end cap for the thread holder. When I realized my thread was getting ripped apart, I realized the rubberized end caps had not been applied. If it was a quality like this, it probably would have fallen off anyway, and if I were you, I would look for a different product.
It is of very high quality.
This set of solid parts has a reasonable price. It's not professional quality, but it's also not cheap junk.
