Questions & Answers
That would be dependent on the fly you're tying. You'll most likely be able to find an instructional video on YouTube that includes a list of all the materials you'll need to tie that particular pattern. The kits will most likely include the tools you'll need, but not the materials you'll need to make salmon flies.

However. For the price, the kit is mostly of the quality I expected: not great. The included hook selection, on the other hand, left me disappointed. The DVD demonstrates how to tie a few flies using the included materials, but the kit only came with one type of hook, not the various ones shown on the DVD. The hook bags were labeled for the various flies, but the hooks were identical and did not match those shown on the DVD.
However, nothing in the kit and was secure. It's a very nice set. However, nothing was secure in the kit, and everything was piled on top of each other. It's almost as if someone threw everything into a carrying case and shipped it. This was a present, and when the case was opened, I expected it to look great. Instead, it looked like it had been thrown across a parking lot. I'm not sure if it included anything. I'm not sure if it deserves a three-star rating. Perhaps I should've just gone to Cabellas.
I've learned a lot about tying, and the kit came with plenty of supplies to get me started. Of course, there are better options, but for the price, I believe this is the best option.
Junk that has been returned.
The kit was not what I expected for the price, and it was overpriced.
It's great that there's a video to go along with it! It makes learning a whole lot easier.
It's great that there's a video to go along with it. This makes learning a lot easier. The material used to tie the knots is of excellent quality. For the rest of my materials, I'll stick with the Troutsmen brand!.
