No, there are no hooks in this kit. I can't recall how many there are. A basic set of materials is included in the kit to get you started. One of the biggest reasons to buy it is the use and the tools it includes. The rotational vise is a good tool for learning. Fish are caught with it by tying fish flys. The one I have is the best

This is a decent start for someone just starting. I understand. I will use those As a result of how the box was constructed, Vice wouldn't fit right at first. However, I was able to make it work. In light of what I know now, I would definitely not buy it again. I would never recommend spending that much money on this. Rather than cheapen out like me, do the opposite. It would have been better if I had read more reviews on this product before purchasing. A gift like this would probably be better suited for a teenager or a kid, rather than a grown man.
In comparison, these items were not a bad value, but the lever on the hook clamp broke after just a few weeks, rendering this entire set useless. The company won't reply to my requests for a replacement without requiring me to return the entire kit, which is not something I would like It would be extremely helpful if you could provide some information about how to replace the.
I ordered this for Father's Day as a gift. He really liked it but thought it was overpriced for the material used. I think it looks nice and is made from wood, but it seems to be a cheaper kind. It was immediately apparent that the drawer face plate was broken as soon as he opened the box and took it out of it. A piece of glue was needed to return it to its original position. The edges of some of the books were scuffed as well. In light of the fact that it came with a lot of tools and supplies, plus a vice, I wasn't surprised at the price, but for the tool to be broken out of the box was a real disappointment.
My recent interest in tying my own flies has been due to the fact that purchasing flies is simply too expensive. The product I gave four stars due to the fact I discovered quickly after purchasing this product that there are other products that are better based on sturdiness and material quality, although it has so far served me well. A great tool for people who are just starting out in fly tying. There was one thing that I didn't like about it a few of the fly-tying materials.
In the end, it is fine for the storage box, but not for the rest of it. It's supposed to be a rotary vise, but There is no way to keep the hooks within the jaw, since it is made of plastic. Again, you're supposed to have the same materials used in the book and the video, but there are no materials in other colors. Would be nice to see other colors of materials, not just olive drab. It's time to throw away the vise, so I ordered a rotary vise with metal jaws, yet another expense I'm not ready to make. The difficulty level of this game is too high to recommend, even for beginners. A downvote is deserved.
This kit is perfect for those studying fly tying for the first time. The vise works fine. It is made of good quality material. The kit came with an assortment of quality materials to enable you to tie relatively simple flies, such as wooly bugs, although it did not come with the half hitch tool shown in the instruction DVD. I would recommend buying this product as well as buying it again. The DVD contains good instruction, however some hands-on instruction by an expert would make it easier to understand.
Aside from enough bobbins to keep everything straight, the kit included all the basic tools he would need to start tying. This work station is suitable for all levels of skill in fly tying. It is compact and easy to set up. I give it five stars.
I'm not happy with the quality of the box and fly vise! As soon as you install it on the box, the vise is too high and it can't be adjusted. A few bucks invested in a better fly tying kit even for beginners is worth the money. I am sure you will regret not doing so.
