Two different wheels are depicted in the two images. The one hub appears to be made of welded stainless steel, while the other appears to be made of cast pewter. If I place an order, which will I get?

The hub on my bicycle is made of cast alloy. It appears to have enough mass to hold the wheel in place. Stainless steel is used for both the wheel and the spokes.

What type of material is used for the hub? It isn't drawn to you. Is it made of aluminium? I'm not interested in putting aluminum on a stainless shaft. will it corrode in the long run?

I have a 2001 Bayliner and would like to know if this will fit the tapered shaft. The wheel's back shaft is 3/4 inch in diameter and tapers to 5/8 inch in diameter. ?

Yes, this will work with most 3/4" tapered shafts.

Is it going to fit a sea star helm?

A Woodruff key is used to fit a standard tapered shaft. Before you put it together, grease everything.

I replaced a standard black plastic marine steering wheel with this one, and it looks great

This one appears to be nice, but the steering wheel pitch is different and not as comfortable in the hands, which I'm not sure how to explain. I'm sure I'll grow accustomed to it. It didn't bother me any longer. br>br>However, there is a piece of metal trash inside the steering wheel that when I turn it, it rolls along and drives me insane. It's been reduced from a 4 to a 3 and a replacement is being considered.

It only took ten minutes for me to complete this task! The trick is to remove the old one. I removed the nut and replaced it, allowing it to protrude slightly over the threads. The nut popped right off when I hit it with a hammer while applying pressure to the steering wheel. Use a wheel puller or pry bar to remove the wheel. It only takes a few minutes to complete this method. The new wheel is fantastic!.

Yes, the spokes are not welded to the outer ring, but if you're getting water in your steering wheel, you should probably replace it. Consider how you keep your boat in storage. I believe that getting water in your steering wheel is the least of your concerns.

Nice wheel for a boat. Exceptional quality. The boat is kept outside and has remained rust-free for several seasons since I purchased it. It appears that it is still brand new. It is something that I would recommend.
