Questions & Answers

Is it possible to charge two different size batteries (two 27 series and one 24 series) at the same time?

Yes, I have two 29s and a 27 connected to the three-bank charger at the moment. It's a very clever charger. I currently own two NOCO chargers, both of which have performed admirably.

Is there a floating mode on this charger? If that's the case, what are the float mode voltage requirements for each charge battery type?

What does it mean to float like a trickle? It charges in stages, eventually settling into a trickle mode. It reverts to an "off" mode after a predetermined amount of time on trickle with no discharge, after which it wakes up every 24 hours to check if the battery requires charging. In theory, this should extend the life of a battery that has been left on trickle for an extended period of time. br>As for floating, I've run my electronics and troll motor in the boat shed while charging, but I haven't tried starting the engine or anything like that. The specifications you're looking for might be in the manual, but I haven't finished reading it yet.

How long does the guarantee last?

A 3-year warranty is included with the GENPRO10X3. a one-year warranty

Is it possible to use this to charge golf cart lithium batteries connected in series for a 36-volt system? I have 3- 12 volt lithium batteries connected in series for a total voltage of 36 volts?

Yes. Simply connect a single battery to each bank.

House banks in marine, R/V, and off-grid applications are not recommended
3/5

I bought this charger to replace an old two-bank battery charger, and I had high expectations based on the reviews, but after working with the NOCO support team, I've determined that this battery charger is not suitable for situations where batteries are used frequently - For example, house batteries for boats, RVs, and off-grid situations. For a boat, I've got a simple battery setup - There are two types of batteries in the house: one for the starter and one for the house. During the day, I put the least amount of strain on the batteries (1. 6Ahrs) during the day and even less at night (1. 0 Ahrs). I let the charger charge the starter and house bank completely before putting it into maintenance mode - It sat for two weeks and the batteries appeared to be in good shape. The issues began when we began to use the boat and the house battery bank. The charger would shut down after 2 or 3 days, allowing the batteries to discharge completely. I emailed this information to NOCO's customer service department, and after a few emails, I received the following response: br>br>""Noco chargers are not designed to keep the batteries charged indefinitely. Our chargers anticipate that the batteries will be fully charged at some point. If the customer does not allow the charger to complete its task because he is constantly draining the batteries, the charger will eventually time out. On the customer's app, it appears that he is refusing to let the charger complete the maintenance mode. The customer began using his refrigerator and stereo while the charger was in maintenance mode. Maintenance mode tops off the batteries with a very small amount of current. If the customer turns on the fridge and stereo while the charger is in this low current mode, the charger will not be able to fully charge the batteries, and it will eventually timeout and display a bad battery indication. The problem isn't the amount of load; it's the customer's refusal to allow the charger to complete its task. If the charger completes the charge, the customer will be able to use his stereo and refrigerator without difficulty. "br>br>Once the load is applied and the charger kicks in to re-charge the batteries, that 41-pound battery becomes a 41-pound battery. The hour time-out returns, and if the load lasts longer than 41 hours (meaning the batteries are unable to reach a full charge due to the load), the charger will time out and display the error once more. "br>br>This type of operation is not recommended for household batteries.

I had a Gen1 Noco for my AGM batteries in my camper before, so when I upgraded to lithium-ion batteries, I bought this one
4/5

batteries made of lithium ion br>Unfortunately, most of this stuff is way over my head in terms of understanding what it all does, so if you're in the same boat as me, here are a few things I wish I had known before I bought. It uses 10 amps per hour to charge. br> I assumed it charged at 30 amps because of the 10 amp rating and the "30 amp" label. 3 x 10 amp hookups That 30 comes from each of those hours, so don't make the same mistake I did. I simply didn't understand what that meant in terms of charging time. I recently purchased two 206amp SOK batteries (which, according to Will Prowse, are the best in terms of price/build). You're welcome to go check it out) So, I had to upgrade to this charger because it can charge lithium batteries, whereas my previous one couldn't. br>However, it took 20 hours to charge from near death (due to the fact that they had to ship that way). Now it makes sense to me, 206 amp-hours Hours divided by ten equals 20 hours! I'm not sure I'd want a faster charger because it was running hot and I split the time because I was concerned about the heat generated by the NOCO. The batteries worked fine, but the NOCO was extremely hot. It was in the 60s, so it wasn't too hot, and I had to put a fan on it to keep it cool because it was out in the open (unlike where I'd put it in the camper). I didn't want it to get too hot because it would turn off on its own. I changed out the shelf it was on and put in an aluminum plate with holes drilled in it to help dissipate the heat, and I'll put a larger fan to pull air in and out of the cabinet and hope for the best. br>It might not be an issue because I hope to never drain it to that level since I have two batteries, but if I did, I'd have to watch it closely instead of plugging it in and going about my day like my other AA batteries. The wires are nice and thick, as they should be, and the connections are very sturdy, which I like. The total number of people in the unit is 7. The weight is only 7 pounds, but it's a heavyweight. I also like how easy it is to select the battery type, and how the lights indicate how far along the process you are. br>My gen1 could charge for 10 hours without overheating, so the heat it was producing after only 4 hours surprised me, but I did have it hooked up to two batteries. Even though I had two batteries in parallel, my Gen1 was only wired for one. My lithiums will also be connected in parallel, but the instructions state that because lithiums have BMSs, I should wire for each battery separately. br>Once I get everything installed and running this summer, I'll come back and let you know how it goes. I simply used it in my garage straight out of the box to charge the batteries when I got them.

Charger is very nice
5/5

I've yet to come across a charger that allows you to control individual charging banks. Because I have a mixture of batteries, AGM for cranking and Lithium for the trolling motor, I needed this charger. I was able to customize each bank based on the battery type. The AGM battery is still charging in the first photo, while the two Li batteries are finished. In the second photo, I was able to turn off the two Li banks while the AGM charged. So far, this charger has been a homerun for NOCO.

Designed to be used in a boat
5/5

So far, everything seems to be going swimmingly. At a high-end boat builder, I work as a rigger. In my own boat, I had a well-known brand-name charger that was struck by lightning. We'll just say the color scheme was yellow and black. That charger came with regular copper wires, which surprised me. I took a chance and purchased the Noco charger, and I was pleased to see that it was constructed using tin-coated copper wires. This is a significant benefit because my boat spends 7 or 8 months of the year in salt water. Although there is nothing wrong with the yellow and black charger, the noco has the upper hand here. The second feature that I enjoy is the increased level of control that Noco provides. Not only can you quickly determine the state of each battery, but you can also de-energize it. Sufing is a type of sufing that is used to keep the body in good condition That's fantastic!.

Reliable and capable of completing the task at hand
5/5

I originally purchased the 5x2 because I have "two banks," but after further research, I discovered that I actually have three batteries (two house deep cycle and one starting battery) and decided to upgrade to the 10x3 because the time I need it the most is on trips where we sit and listen to music with an amp and various electronics running, and a 5 amp charger will take longer than that evening to fully restore the batteries. So far, I've been pleased with it! Depending on your setup and motor(s), I'd recommend disconnecting the motor (turning off the battery) before using it to avoid backfeeding into the capacitor or ECU.
