Questions & Answers

I bought this three mouths ago and everything worked fine until four switches stopped working. The fuses are fine. Any ideas?

My switches get wet and stop working, so I throw them out and buy a different brand. Check all wire connections between switches; mine were all loose, and I had to tighten them with needle nose pliers.

Is it possible to switch the first two red wires on the first switch to make it act as a power switch for the entire panel?

Dear customer, we do not recommend changing the panel's wiring because it could affect the panel's proper operation.

Is the Voltmeter powered all the time (and displays voltage all the time), and if so, will it drain the battery when the boat isn't in use?

Yes, as long as the battery is connected, the voltage will be displayed; however, I always unplug the battery and place it on a trickle charger after I go out. I'd just do that because it's good for the battery and you might have to do it anyway if it gets low. You don't have to run the voltmeter if you don't want to, and you can leave it unplugged when installing the switch panel.

Excellent, with a few minor flaws that could be addressed
4/5

So let's start with something that isn't obvious in the online photos:br>br>When laying out for the cut to install the panel, keep in mind that the nuts on the back of the switches and charge sockets are fairly close to the panel's edge. So close, in fact, that it may be necessary to cut the hole for the panel to go around these, resulting in a useless screw hole with no meat for the screw to grab if the panel is misaligned. br>br>The preliminary The wiring appears to have been rushed, which is fine if you're only connecting one item per switch, but I needed to ditch the prewired and go with my own setup in my case. Even though I grabbed the connectors with needle nose pliers, wires pulled out of the connectors when I removed the harness. The connectors were crimped on the switches so tightly that I was afraid I'd break them mechanically before they let go. Fortunately, this did not occur, but I was perplexed as to why the wires were not crimped as tightly as the switch posts' connectors. br>br>The blue LEDs are nice, and they're bright enough that you can tell if the switch is on just by looking at it, even in bright sunlight, unaffected by shading. The switches have a positive click and provide good mechanical feedback, making them simple to operate without mushy roll. They either turn on or turn off in a positive manner, with just the right amount of resistance. Overall, I wish there was a slightly smaller panel like this one available, but I couldn't find one, so this will have to suffice. br>br>The cigarette lighter and USB charge ports are nice extras, and they both read the voltage correctly. I can listen to the radio while simultaneously charging my phone and a portable radio?! Bonus.

Although it appears to be quite cool, there are some drawbacks
4/5

In my 1973 K5 Blazer, this switchboard is perfect. It has a high-end feel to it. The combination of technology and the classic truck feel is a winning combination. To install it, I had to cut the dash apart and fabricate a special fit plate to keep it in place, so it wasn't exactly the easiest thing to do: The only major criticism I have of this switchboard is that it does not have a lot of power output; it took about 9 hours to complete. All switches and chargers are powered by a single small 16 gauge hot wire. To avoid a fire, I recommend using relay switches with this if you're going to use it for anything that will draw more than 2 amps per switch (headlights draw about 4-amps per switch). Normally, 6 amps are used.

It is not waterproof
4/5

The description of the product is somewhat deceptive. The switches are not waterproof, but the panel itself is. At all. This panel was installed and wired on my pontoon boat, and it rained the same day I installed and wired all of my lights and other gear to the panel. It wasn't a particularly heavy downpour; rather, it was a light drizzle with no wind. When I step outside, my led lights have turned on. Although they are not fully operational, they clearly have voltage, indicating that water has entered the switch. I'm going to order some proper waterproof switches to replace the ones that came with the panel. It's not a good idea to use it where there's a chance it'll get wet.

It does what it says
5/5

To make my project go more smoothly, I wanted a simple switch panel with pre-wired fuses and switches. This is what I received as a result of my purchase. Everything works fine; I've had it for two months and washed out my boat with a hose, and it appears to be in good shape. I really like the built-in volt meter; I double-checked it and it's accurate. I used 3M marine silicone to seal the back side of the panel and Rivets instead of the provided screws. I'm sure the screws were fine, but I'm not sure they were stainless. So far, this purchase has served me well.

For a boat that is a little older, this is a nice upgrade
4/5

When I was rebuilding this old SmokerCraft boat, which had no panel at all and a broken speedo and light switch, I decided to just start over and thought it would be nice to have some control over a few upgrades I wanted to make. br>I found this panel to be relatively easy to install, though I did replace the last switch with a pushbutton (found here on Amazon) for the horn because I didn't want a switch for that device. br>There are plenty of stickers in the kit for almost every device a boat would have a switch for, though one that says "fish finder" would have been nice. I decided to just use the depth sounder sticker because it sounded more professional. br>All of the switches are agc flat blade-style. I was going to remove all of them and run straight to a new fuse block under the dash, but I decided against it. With a few crimp connectors, it's simple enough. br>It's a nice upgrade to have a cigarette lighter jack and two USB ports, even if they're only two. Not the newer 3 amp style, but 1A. No big deal; I'll still be able to charge all of my devices without having to lug a portable battery around the boat or leave it out in the hot sun all day. br>Installation is fairly straightforward; with a jigsaw and a few measurements, you can cut a rectangle in your dash, place the panel in place, and secure it with the provided black screws. I made mine look a little more custom by draping an aluminum panel over the wood and wrapping it in some carbon fiber vinyl leftover from a hood wrap I did a few months ago! It looks good enough on the inside; now I just need to improve the exterior. Yes, this is correct: br>B ustbr>O utbr>A notherbr>T housandbr>With the new floor/Garmin/stereo/speakers/plugs/jacks/wiring/isolator, I'm almost there, GAHHH!.

For a multipurpose switch panel, this is a good price
5/5

For a variety of reasons, I chose this method over using a fuse block with multiple independent switches. This was less expensive than purchasing each component separately. The ease of installation is the second factor to consider. Connect the battery with a single wire, then run a wire to and from each appliance or load. It doesn't get any easier than this, and in my case, it means fewer wire runs. on the water Third - It contains all of the information I was looking for - The lights, pumps, and other switches, as well as the USB port for charging phones and a bluetooth speaker, an easily visible volt meter, and the 12v socket for air pumps for summer water inflatables and other items. For less than $30, you can have it all. It's difficult to defeat. Oh, and it's fused as well - with fuses already installed.
