Questions & Answers
Yes, my force pedal fits perfectly, and I added about an inch of padding under it to make it more comfortable for me.
Three of the center tubes had to be pulled by two people. You'll also need to make changes to the tray underneath the tubes. In order for the pedal tray to fit between the rod tray sidewalls, I had to cut out some foam and bend the edges of the aluminum rod tray. You can find some excellent videos of this on YouTube.
It will fit, but there may be some issues beneath the front deck, so look for wiring, compartment dividers, and flotation foam.

The fit is excellent. After conducting extensive research into recessed trays, I chose ezTroll. The instructions for installation are simple and straightforward. Cutting the carpeting with a razor blade was the most difficult part. It's at this point that you realize there's no turning back once you've made this decision. You've put everything on the line. That being said, I took the plunge and meticulously followed the installation instructions. br>The deck has some odd half-cut thick cardboard tubes layered in fiberglass and foam as support, and while they cut easily, I hit a snag because the jigsaw blade wasn't long enough to get all the way through. I was able to find some 6" to replace the 3". 3/4" and presto, you've got yourself a finished product. a hole has been made! The ultrex pedal sits just above flush on the tray, as it should. The screa used to secure the tray to the deck was the only issue. They're cheap, and you're going to take them apart. Before you use the supplied screws, follow this advice and buy some GOOD stainless hardware as a replacement. br>I read some complaints about how flimsy this thing is. You could probably take out a pack of wolves with this thing if you swung it hard enough. It has a good foundation. It's a bit stiff. It is constructed with little to no flex. I'm not sure what other people received in the mail, but mine is exactly what I wanted.
The instructions are spot on, and the template that comes with it is fantastic. Making that first cut took a lot of courage, but it's well worth it if you put your mind to it. After a long day of fishing, there will be no more back pain.
I wish I'd bought and installed it earlier. The difference it makes when using the trolling motor foot pedal is incredible, and it's well worth the money. The company also has a video of how to install on their website, which I watched several times before installing it, which made it much easier and allowed me to learn about any issues I might have with my Triton boat. Having the right tools for the job makes all the difference; on my Triton, a vibrating saw made all the difference when it came to removing part of a support brace and foam. Because the drain line supplied and the existing drain line in my Triton were two different sizes, I found a T adapter at a local hardware store that can handle four different sizes of tubing, allowing me to connect to my existing drain line from my casting seat.
It was much larger than I anticipated, and I debated whether or not to cut it into my boat, but I went ahead and did so, and it turned out to be AMAZING. My previous two were done in custom Jon boats and required a lot more customization than this. This will be a breeze if you are skilled in carpentry or even just a little like me. Simply center your template, tape it off completely, drill some holes in each corner, and jigsaw inside the tape. My ranger is foam-filled, so getting it out was a chore. br>br>Useful hint: When you test fit the tray in the floor, make sure there is some wiggle room; if you have to force the tray down and screw it to the floor even a little, you will soon have a warped tray.
I've been debating whether or not to get this for a long time; after all, I've been without it for 15 years, so why now? I'll tell you what I mean. On rough water days, it's easier to balance, and it's easier on my back. It did take up some space in my rod locker because it is in the center of my boat, but I can still fit all of my rods in there if I am careful. I'm relieved to have received it. It's an excellent boating tool.
The installation took about two hours in total. After watching a few YouTube videos, everything went surprisingly smoothly. The product is good in and of itself, but I agree with others who have complained about the low price. I strongly advise upgrading the tray's screws, which are of good quality.
The video instructions are well-made and will give you the confidence you need to cut a large hole in your boat. This product 100% comes highly recommended by me.
This is a massive machine. For the intended purpose, the plastic is far too flexible. It'll be returned to you.
