Place the loose end of the cord through the loop on the opposite end. I'm not sure what a rail clip is.
They aren't going to shrink any further, in my opinion.

This line appeals to me because the navy color blends in nicely with the other blues on the boat. The line was soft and easily fit through my Taylor fenders, and the loop should make removing the line easier in the future. Only time will tell how long the color lasts. The line is also clinging to the stainless railing very well.
These are 3/8" fender lines, according to the site. The rope diameter is not specified anywhere in the package. When I opened the package, I discovered that the rope was closer to 1/2" in diameter. Perhaps 5/16" if under tension. I intend to use the Taylor Pontoon rail hangers with it. I'm hoping this rope will work. It's possible that the hole in the hanger will need to be drilled out. Given that this product is claimed to be part of the Taylor Made group, it would appear that they would double-check specs from China.
I would recommend it as a product. It's well-made and of good quality. Having said that, I ordered burgundy ropes and received purple instead. Very let down.
I purchased two two-piece sets. They appear to be well-made, with a small loop on one end and heat-fused fraying resistance on the other. They appear to be slightly thicker than 3/8" but not quite 1/2" straight out of the package. They were intended to be used with BoatTector Fender Hangers, which are compatible with 1/4" to 1/2" lines, but the lines failed to 'grab' the hangers' jam cleats. They might stretch out a little and become less'slick' after some use.
The Taylor Made fender lines have performed admirably, as expected. Invest once and reap the benefits for the rest of your life.
These Fender Lines are incredible, and the color is absolutely stunning. They're simple to use and I really like them.
