I have a 16-foot boat with a trailer that is in good condition. The winch hook is only a few inches away from the boat's nose pull ring. I'm fairly certain the hook reached the trailer's back end. plus a little more

I find it to be effective

Because of the size of the real, I can easily crank my 14' outboard on to the Traylor. I can count on a good, strong strap. The hook is simple to use and remove, as well as being durable. The inner strap slipped on the real the first few times I used it, but this no longer happens now that the inner strap has settled in. I always use a chain to secure the boat to the Traylor, but this crank has never slipped.

It's functional, but there's a lot of space to work with

The winch performs admirably. I just wish it had a little more "beef" to it. The handle is just wide enough to clear the mounting bracket and rotate the mount without rubbing it. It would be much better if the handle had an outward bend, allowing the mounting bracket to turn with a little more clearance.

There is no hardware included with the installation

I would buy this product again because it arrived quickly and looks good. However, I am disappointed that no installation hardware (nuts, washers, and bolts) was included.

This is not a toy for the faint of heart. Installed on my freshwater sailboat trailer, expect it to last a while. With a good-sized hook, it runs smoothly.

It's a stylish winch with a cloth strap that's perfect for boats

I'm working on a friend's boat. He went to Harbor Freight and bought one with a steel cable, which is rusting badly after a year. I replaced it with this version, which is more attractive and won't scratch the boat or make it difficult to unwind.

For a 16 whaler, this is the perfect size

The only issue I have with this winch is that it occasionally gets stuck and then releases by itself. I'm currently using it for a 17 foot whaler and it completely pulls the boat up with no issues.
