You can use that as a guideline. The line can be heavier, but you get better results by using 12 lbs. The following is an example.

Compared to the spool that I received in the mail, here's the spool that I got in the mail. How many yards did I receive? My understanding is that it is nothing like that, at least on the surface. I may have done so. There is a possibility I did not. But I am not confident with the product being sold and I think it may even be a misrepresentation. I have been unsatisfied with KastKing products for the second time in a row. There is a reel I purchased from them that appears to be quite good. I find the drag to be extremely I find it extremely difficult to fish with it. A child may be able to handle it. Whatever the case, I'm returning this line and I won't be buying any more KastKing merchandise. The company really tried to make me feel good, but I'm going to stick with the brands I know and trust. The money and time wasted is not worth it. I find it really unfortunate since the company has a lot of good reviews and great.
As long as you are not afraid to lose it too easily, I would advise you to use light tackle with thin line. However, there are often large fish (bass/catfish) in those waters. Recently, I have come to stick with Suffix Siege 6lb monofilament line. I also purchased Kasta King Stealth and Kodiak reels, and have been surprised at how well they work. As a result, I wanted to test the KastKing Mono line in 6lb. Again, we are pleasantly surprised with the results! With KastKing premium mono, the following comparisons can be made with the Suffix Siege 6lbs mono This is a thinner version (diameter of 0). The difference between 009 and 0 is The digit ten Stronger (a real weight capacity of about 7*8lb is available in the KastKing) This version has a smoother cast (about 10) The trip takes 20% longer) The Sufix Siege feels like it bites a little more and sets the hook better (it's a little softer, which absorbs more pressure). Depending upon how it is handled (ex. overspooling, loose retrieving), the small amount of stiffness might pose a challenge to beginners. For myself, however, it has never been an issue. Furthermore, more benefits result from it I started to love this line after about an hour of fishing and 30+ crappies caught!.
This weekend, I had the chance to fish with this line and I am very A 4 lb mono was purchased and used on an ultra-light Rods that have a light and light action. A 6'6 light action rod from the 70's was used with a $15 fly rod (which I collect and occasionally use old rods). The reel used by my son is a 00 store brand reel with a small weighted bobber and I use 1/32 jig heads for crappie jigs. It must be noted that I was using a Rodstow St. Croix rod instead of a Pflueger high end reel. In spite of the strong winds, the line cast as well as possible. I had not expected that it would land flat on the water with no kinks or curls and that it would perform so well. When compared to a line spooled with another reel and the Berkely Sensation on top, the other line curled on the water and was twisted throughout. In my experience, I spooled the Kastking myself, whereas the Berkley was spooled by a local sporting goods retailer, so all things being equal, it would seem that the Berkley would be the clear winner. That is absolutely not the case. A second spool of this line is on it's way to me after I'm satisfied with the first one. Cast lite jigs with this rod, or use it to catch panfish.
Line was cheap so I bought 20lb test to use with my Penn Battle II. I did some surf fishing in Malibu with it. I lost a Lucky Craft CIF lure and a Daiwa salt pro lure. After a few casts, the line snapped The knot I had may not be good. I had a different lure on and it got lost on the first cast. I've fished for most of my life and have never encountered this problem before. There's no way this line will hold up if you try to reel in a fish with it. Don't waste your money on useless things.
Despite its challenges, this line stood up to the test and passed. My hesitation comes from the fact that lighter lines have broken on me in the past.
I fish for panfish with light lines, but if something with size bites, I'll need heavier lines. Taking this cat in on a 6 day test, it is not huge, but is big enough to snap lighter lines and.
They saw how easy it is to see this kind of main line as compared to one with a clear line and a color The fish caught in jetty rocks after snagging a jerk bait was strong, stronger than they imagined. I pulled with all my might, but the line never broke even though I had considerably more weight than 12 lbs. In the end, I cut my line after fighting for half an hour, losing my Crossover jerkbait from Tactical Anglers. The tournament features a number of professional anglers and tour captains. KastKing products have now been switched over to by many organizations. In and of itself, that should tell us something. My two saltwater reels have been made by Sharky for the past two years. I've used the KastKing lines for years. The quality of all of them is very good, and we have no regrets purchasing them over more expensive.
I bought the 10 pound test in red and have not had any problems It has been used by me to capture over a dozen snook between 18 and 27 inches and it never broke. The day was windy when I fished, however I only had one wind knot during the entire six hours. This was probably caused by my reel laying the line incorrectly and not as a result of the line itself. I also did not experience the color bleeding that others have reported. If I had nicer reels, I'd probably invest in something higher end. But if I need a cheap setup, this stuff is awesome.
There is no point in investing money into this line. I bought a 8lb test in ice white. I drove to a sound to fly fish for There are reports that the perch are biting hard, so you might consider filling a bucket with perch for a nice shore meal with an hour or so of effort. When I got out the rod and rigged it up for perch, after only five seconds in the water, my line snapped. The only person to blame is me, like every seasoned angler. No lubrication was applied well enough to the knot. A friend of mine went through the same thing as you. I lose another fish just after tying on again, and my buddy loses one just a minute after that. We were both unable to connect. Now we try to blame the line for our incident. When we both grabbed about 3 feet of line between our hands, the line stretched and immediately broke. To respool six reels, we had to unspool six reels and re-spool them with good ole Berkley from the local fishing store for a huge market. I have not had any problems since then.
