Phaiy Bucket Hat Wide Brim UV Protection Sun Hat Boonie Hats Fishing Hiking Safari Outdoor Hats for Men and Women

This was purchased to serve as a backup hat when I am forced to give up my beloved and adventure worn 'Free Authority Outdoors' boonie hat. There aren't any stores anymore that make this particular hat, so I can't locate one to replace my old one. Since it's no longer made, I can't get another one. My old hat is almost identical to this one by Phaiy, and it is made to the exact same dimensions, so I decided to buy it. I have a few initial thoughts. The pros are This hat looks almost exactly like the one I used in my last adventure, almost as if it was modeled after my 'Free Authority Outdoors' hat. In every way, the design and dimensions are the same. The 3 inch brim on the hat is nice. Many boonie hats have a 2-inch brim The brims are five inches wide. A wide brim is better for protecting against the sun. The chin cord is sewn into the hat, instead of a woven rope which is prone to fraying and picking up stickers. This is a big plus for me since the rope tends to pick up junk on the trail and fray. I like how it looks on my head and how it fits perfectly. Inner shell seems to be cotton canvas and may be ok but is not good. In the description, the colors match well with the picture. This combo of burnt orange and olive drab is so lovely! The hat is floppy in comparison to many of the boonies I've worn in the past. It is comfortable. A stylish look. Exactly what I needed. Shades of gray. When I put the four wheel drive chin strap in four wheel drive position, it stays on. As I feel the jealousy steaming off passersby, I have a gut feeling they are jealous of me. There's no girl at prom who doesn't wish to be me. Surely this would be the perfect replacement hat for Cinderella if her hat were lost. We're hoping this floral print bucket will bring some luck to Prince Charming.

An attractive and well-designed website I made it. A quality product. The protection from UV rays is limited. This hat is by no means wide brimmed. Unless the sun is high in the sky, a lot of UV protection is not provided. It protects the eyes from glare but will expose you to UV damage below the nose. In my opinion, a neck, face, and head protector would be more appropriate. However, it is difficult to judge from a picture, and I apologize for that. This is for those who need only protection for their nose, scalp, and eyes, and who also need a comfortable, quality hat. I think THIS hat would be a nice addition. You'll keep your scalp cool with this product. Will fit a small head but not a large one. My copy is still with me. The reason for this is unclear.

Until now, I haven't been a fan of bucket hats. It was quite an adventure, which included a bit of free solo climbing and intense bushwhacking. While climbing in full sun exposure, it kept my neck from getting sunburned. One of the best parts was that it drooped down a bit enough to protect my face from the thorns and branches during the 3 miles of bushwhacking through dense river beds. Material quality and construction on this building are excellent. This hat matches the photograph, which shows a floppy, soft brim. One of the only complaints I have is that it's a little tight on the head and that the strap slips over the ears directly. Normally I would prefer for the strap to be a half-inch or so in front of the ears, but this one is right smack in the middle of the hat, so you have to put it under the chin, which rubs on For simplicity, I usually wear it with the strap on the back of my head.

Once I put it on, I realized it was SO much more comfortable than those thicker hats, and that I was going to wear it more often than those others, simply because even when it's sunny, it can get HOT, so you want your head to Is it durable? can't say for sure yet since it hasn't been long enough for me to know. I got what I wanted. There are perhaps too many nits to pick While I know several details in this listing are inaccurate for a clothing item purchased on Amazon, I feel the need to point this out. It is made entirely from polyester without a trace of cotton (the listing indicates the hat is 100-percent the size indicated is a 'Large' but the tag says the hat is only available in 'One Size'. Perhaps these details are so small that the average shopper wouldn't notice. I steer clear of Amazon when it comes to clothing or fashion items, as a general rule.
