Questions & Answers

A travel case is included with the product?

Yes, and we are adding a new design travel case to the package (as shown in the image). This will be a pleasant experience for you.

What is the backing, fly line and leader of this reel, and will I have to install them myself or will they be preinstalled?

A copy of it is already on the system

How do you retrieve the right or left side?

As well as a left-handed reeve, the Max Catch combo was also available in blue. My system was oriented this way, and I am not sure if all exist that way.

What is your recommendation for fly fishing in saltwater and for largemouth bass fishing with the 8wt?

That's what I'd like to do. For those starting out fly fishing or just who just want a good pole at an affordable price, I think it is a good choice.

Selected User Reviews For M MAXIMUMCATCH Maxcatch Extreme Fly Fishing Combo Kit 3/5/6/8 Weight, Starter Fly Rod and Reel Outfit, with a Protective Travel Case

It is a decent setup, but there are a few NEWS UPDATE INVESTIGATION IN Having used the cork handle for a year, it is now falling off and needs to be repaired
3/5

Several outings later, my impressions following the purchase of the 3wt 8'4" kit is as follows - - - Despite its solidity, the rod is thin. The length of the document is my only concern I don't think 8'4" is ideal for tightline or euro-style flying The nymphing will not be successful if the water is too small. You can kind of see this weird middle part of it. It would be great if it could be a For small streams, a range of 7'6" would be appropriate, and for Euro streams, a range of 10' There are nymphs. You'd have to get used to it if you're used to a heavier weight rod. It's a pretty fast rod, and if you're used to a heavier rod it's a little difficult at first. You should underline the rod on smaller streams if you can. Casting and controlling a 4wt is a lot easier than a 5wt. When I tried casting nymphs or streamers I had difficulty getting them to cast and sink, or they floated away after casting The resistant dries at size 12 or larger without the larger line. I am just okay with this reel. There are medium-sized wheels with the drag, and they are cast out of aluminum The rod is made of quality material and is well balanced. There are a couple of wider-reaching issues It's better than Leader slips through the gaps between the spool and reel and gets caught between the reel and spool on occasion. A nice touch is the neoprene reel bag that comes with it. Despite dunking the reel a few times while wading and letting it dry, I haven't noticed any difference in its I'm sorry -- A bonus point goes to Rod & Reel Case for its awesome design. Three of my fishing rods and reels are in there, and I think there is room for a fourth. Please note that. Fly line and backing are made of nylon. A microloop does not come on the end of the fly line, so either tie your own, get a braided line, or (my recommendation if you are using this on small streams) get a decent 4wt line. Or even a 5wt on those incredibly tiny streams where the fly line you have out the tip of your rod hardly stretches across half the rod length. Please note that. There is no sense in putting the leader in the knot, nor should you put the nail knot in the leader A tie exists. You can throw it away after removing it. The breakage rate is extremely high. Please note that. When they are being used to practice casting, the flies are only useful if you take out the point. Those are too big for the 3wt, and the ties are poorly done. Aside from being cheap, they're also very durable. Please note that. Solid material is used in the fly box. However, I have not dunked it yet, even though it has a waterproofing seal. Because it's a bit bulky, you can throw in fluffy streamers or dried flowers without ruining the fabric. Please note that. I'm fine with the zinger I don't think the nippers are all that good. It takes a lot of pressure to cut tippet and the blade is not too sharp. But you'll have an easier time doing it with a pair of 99-cents flip-flops One cent I really like them since they're throwbacks It would make more sense to replace them with something better if you don't have any. On the nail knot nipper, there is a tier which is much appreciated. Overall, this kit could be rated between a 3 and a 4. Despite the fact that I've been on the planet for almost 14 years, I keep mine. You can save a bit of money by taking their slightly more expensive route This concludes our ultra-premium series It's better to use light rods with larger sizes- A reel of that size will work for the 3wt size. Unless you're fishing for large fish or on still water, this reel is really just just a line storage device. If you want to use this as a "complete" starter kit, you'll still need to buy leaders, tippet, and decent separately- You have to take it to the stream when it is full of flies of the required size. The Long Version The DR version is this Among the benefits Please note that. A decent rod - The reel is decent - It is possible to use the fly line
All the accessories I have tried have been great, especially the rod case. CONS Please note that. Flies and leaders are poor quality, and I don't recommend them. The starter is not the best player at all My opinion is that there should be one kit I need to pick up a couple more things. An adequate leader, a decent fly, and a decent tippet spool - I find the length of the rod to be inadequate for specialty fishing situations while using 3wt. Micro-phones are not allowed *Advice *Visit your local fly shop and get your fly line looped I'm sorry -- A good way to increase casting control is to line the 3wt rod with 4wt line. Please note that. To get the 3wt, you have to get their higher-quality We've reached the end of our ultras Anglers should use lighter rods with the proper size for small rivers and streams - I want to get rid of the I have updated the information It turns out that the rods are overlined when they are sold. As far as the line that came with the rod goes, it actually weighs 4wt.

This is an excellent setup for the price
5/5

A great piece of work. It looks extremely light and responsive. Is it the same quality as expensive gear I have used from Scott, Sage, Loomis, Fenwick, Not at all. What do it compare to the entry level rods from Cabela's and Reddington that cost more than this one? The answer is yes, based on my observations. This outfit seems to occupy a niche that I believe it does well Fly fishing isn't for everyone, but if you're new to fly fishing, this outfit is a great place to start. Other than replacing worn leaders and adding tippet, you might never need more than this outfit. Even though the included flies aren't great, you will probably be able to get a few fish on your first outing using them and no extra flies will be necessary. My own flies are what I use to fish Since I was a child, I have been tying things that have worked for me. As an alternative, if you are experienced and have friends or friends who want to try fly fishing, but do not want to lend them expensive equipment or have them bend the rim of a reel before tying their leader into a wind knot, you can use your own fly fishing equipment. You can use this to protect other gear at a very low cost. It is very useful that the reel has only one action. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the fly line. On mine, the knot attaching the fly line to the tapered leader is a mess. Assuming you don't already know how to tie one, plan on learning how to do it. I am very happy with the zipper case. As I stated in the previous paragraph, I'm very satisfied.

The package is decent and the value is excellent
4/5

A couple months of use has resulted in my recommendation of this package at the price point I paid It costs $90. 00. The setup comes with some fly flies and a case, and it's nearly impossible to put one together for that price. Fly fishing is my first experience, and here are the things I have learned There is a rather fast action to the rod and it will feel hard to load up without much line out or a decent-sized This should not be an issue as an 8wt is often able to throw flies that are heavy. Weighing the line, it is within the specs for 8 lb, fully floating, with welded loops on both ends. There is some backing also. As far as the reel is concerned, you can't expect smooth drag or reeling, but it is metal and better than many packaged I would recommend it as an extra reel or beater reel. After about a month, I upgraded to the Pisifun Sword and I am glad I did, the Maxcatch reel is now an extra with sinking line attached. I found the flies to be of decent quality and liked a few of them as well. The patterns weren't the most exciting, but I did see and use some of them. It seems like a good beginning, beater, or extra rod to me. As long as the price is the same, you're hard pressed to find a cheaper alternative. For a similar package from a name brand, you'd likely need to pay on the order of one hundred dollars more.

Rod used for utility purposes
4/5

It is a good rod for fishing on small streams since it is affordable. It is a bit slow, but it is a good game to play for beginners. This was my first fish with it, and I caught quite a few small brook trout with it on a section of the Savage River in Maryland. There are no special flies included in the packet, but they are appropriate for fish in streams without sophisticated My leader and tippet weren't that high-quality when I used them, but I changed them out before using. My choice is a rod that I will keep in my trunk for fishing emergencies. This rod is also perfect for throwing in a suitcase when you are planning to fish a small stream.

The fishing rod has a great case, and the price is excellent
5/5

I go backpacking a lot, so this fishing rod is right up my alley. is easy to assemble, and its only 4 pieces make it quick and easy as a backpacking rod. I like the case the rod comes in as much as the rod itself. The compact size of my travel bag allows me to fit a small spinning rod inside with my fly rod when I am heading into the back country, making packing up my gear a lot Putting one small box of flies and one small box of conventional tackle into that bag, I have everything I need for all my wilderness adventures. All I have to do is find another place in my pack to put a small spinning reel. The purchase has been a great purchase and I am continuing to use it to my satisfaction. Besides that, I've caught quite a bit of fish as well!.
