Questions & Answers

Do the colors fade after they've been washed and dried?

My clothes are dried on the line. After several washes, there has been no fading.

Do these have a silky texture to them?

Although they are primarily made of polyester, they do have a silky feel to them.

The sizing is accurate, but the color is incorrect for the Navy Type III/3
3/5

For years, my Navy husband has worn the Soffe brand under his uniform. I despise the Soffe brand, but it's cheap and in the right color at NEX. I was looking for a new brand to replace the Soffes, and I came across these UA tac shirts. Because the Soffes are thick and tend to get hot under uniform, I wanted to find a lightweight shirt that would stain easily under the arms. The "federal tan" is not close to the right color tan that we need for Navy uniform Type iii/3, despite the good fit and fine, lightweight fabric. I figured it would be a stretch to get the color right, but it was worth a try! Only because of the color did we return this shirt. I will say that the quality appears to be satisfactory and that it is exactly what I require. br>br>The UA federal tan is a taupe/grey/semi-green color, whereas the Soffe tan is a darker brown tan. (For reference, here's a photo of me taken in natural light. ) )br>br>The main reason for writing this review was to inform other Navy personnel that the color isn't quite right. Otherwise, it's a decent quality shirt!br>br>For size reference, my husband is 6'8" and I purchased an XL. He usually wears an XL Tall at UA, but this shirt in XL fit him just fine as a regular XL. br>br>Can you make this shirt in a darker brown/tan for the Navy type 3 uniform? I'd buy ten of them if I could.

It's more tacticool than tactical
4/5

These shirts appeal to me greatly. They're long enough that they don't ride up when you're doing overhead work, and the collar is close enough to the neck that you don't look like you're in a fashion magazine flaunting your abs. The only criticism I have is that the new version is made of a much thinner material. This means that a "tactical" shirt will be less durable. I have a few of the older ones and it's easy to tell the difference just by picking them up. I imagine the goal was to improve cooling, and I suppose having holes all over your shirt from being torn helps you stay cool! br>br>So, they're still great shirts, but wear them with caution if you're wearing them alone. The design may be tactical, but the material is not.

The new Army OCP uniform has a great fit, but it's not authorized
3/5

The UA tactical tech short sleeve, like the rest of the UA tech shirts, is extremely comfortable and durable; however, the "Army Brown" color (210) that UA designed to go with the new Army multicam ocp is far too dark and differs significantly from the authorized Tan499 color. I have a few tactical tshirts in the sand color (290) that I use with the old uniform and they are fantastic. I'd like to keep wearing these, but in a color that is similar to the Tan499. The color coyote brown (220) is very similar to Tan499 and could be worn as a substitute. If UA hasn't considered making this tshirt in the 220 color, I strongly urge them to do so because I believe there is a sizable market for it. On the left is a UA Army Brown tee, and on the right is a Tan499 issued shirt.

I'm a big fan, but I have a problem with stains
4/5

These shirts are one of my favorites because they keep me cool and don't stretch out my neck like cotton does. The only drawback is the price, but they last a long time and stain easily if you spill something on them. But I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

I've been working out in these shirts for a few months and they're great, comfortable, and light
5/5

They're light, comfortable, don't soak up a lot of sweat, and dry quickly. br>br>In terms of fit, depending on your build, they may run a little small. You'll probably need to size up if you have a large upper body. My shoulders were filling out the shirt a little too much for me to be comfortable in a large, so I ordered an extra large. If you don't have a particularly large shoulder or chest area, standard sizing should suffice.

It's appropriate for the workplace
5/5

These are what I use at work. I wear them under my vest in the summer and they really help with the sweat. I'm 5'11" and 215 pounds, with a fit physique. I pre-ordered the XL. It felt a little big after the first wash, but it fit perfectly after the second wash.

These tees are absolutely fantastic
5/5

They may have once been too frail and weak, but that is no longer the case! These tees are absolutely fantastic. They may have once been too frail and weak, but that is no longer the case! br>br>They are still thin and lightweight, as they should be, and they are extremely durable. They're great in the heat because they're made of sweat-wicking fabric. Polyester can be designed in a variety of ways and can be uncomfortable in hot weather, or it can be designed correctly within the fabric to be sweat wicking, cool, and odor resistant, which is exactly what these T-shirts are. Shirts are and will continue to be a part of our lives. I use them for hiking, off-roading, and working on 4x4 trucks in the scorching heat of Southern California. They've taken a beating and are still going strong. I've got quite a few! Enjoy!.

This shirt is far superior to old army cotton t-shirts in terms of comfort
5/5

We were issued standard Army brown cotton t shirts when I was in the Army, and while it was over 20 years ago, I wish they had these available at the time. It's a very light weight shirt that makes you feel like you're not wearing one at all, and it's not scratchy or uncomfortable in the least. An under armor clothing company gave me an item without the X logo. At first I liked it, and wore it with the velcro and zip pocket for a military shirt, which remained in place when submerged into water, so the whole thing had ruined my shirt.
