I find it to be effective
5/5

Deer hunting and target shooting are possible with this gun. On my two Barnett crossbows, I have 2 of them. The fact that they are not factory installed, and the many different stocks that Barnett makes, may require some modification to get it up and running. As a result of the narrow stock on my Whitetail Hunter STR, the black plastic cover over the ratchet pin was not able to fit, no big deal. Likewise, the pin is a little too long and breaks the handle, thus I shaved it with a grinder to get rid of that problem. As for the reviewer who said it only clicked when letting the line out, he should make sure that he lets it all the way out before bringing it back in the other direction. There is a good chance that he reversed the spool of tape. Take the bolt out and adjust the spool, and put it back together, for the reviewer who complained that one spool was about 3mm longer than the other. It is the nature of ratchets to click, so no one should complain about it. There are no complaints about the Tenpoint crank noise, since it makes the same kind of noise. The reviewer who complains about squeaky spools needs to know that mine also did so until I added a little A squeak can no longer be heard. The product would most likely have been tweaked by the factory to work correctly if it were factory installed. I just tweaked it for a minute, and everything turned out fine. BTW, that bow it's hooked to is one beast of a bow!.

Make sure there are no design flaws
3/5

The barnett edge crossbow I have is equipped with this. There is a design flaw in the crank itself and the directions were somewhat confusing. However, the crank gear was manufactured backwards and there is no way to fix it. The device does a good job drawing the string, but the gear in the crank is backwards. As I understand it, there is a switch that is intended to lock the crank in place, so that it won't unravel if you let go of it while pulling the string, however, the gear for this feature is actually backwards and stops it from being cranked. By reason of this strange and dangerous design flaw, there is no purpose for the switch. It is important not to let go of the crank until the string is fully drawn and locked back or you will get hurt.

It is easy to cock by hand, and the cocking mechanism works nicely This is a one-time offer A toggle switch can be used to keep the ratchet in place
4/5

This has been installed on my Ghost 420 - thanks for sharing! The cocking mechanism works well for me as I am too old to operate it by hand. This is a one-time offer You can toggle the way ratchet to prevent the crank from uncoiling as you cock the crossbow, preventing it from firing dry if you lose your grip on Crossbows can be easily cocked this way - it is safe, sturdy, and easy. It was difficult to follow the installation instructions since they were vague and hard to understand -- The star rating is therefore 4 instead of 5.

Your money is worth saving! It is supported on a Barnett Whitetail Hunter II but should not be purchased
3/5

This product was a buy for me because I had shoulder surgery, and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to pull my crossbow back. My good fortune is that I can do so. There is little or no added benefit to this thing, and it is noisy, time consuming, and frustrating. You can drive away any animal you plan to bag by clicking your bow back while drawing it back. Even squirrels didn't stick around to see what I was doing when I did it while target practicing. It took me three YouTube videos to figure out how to plug this in and I had to make numerous adjustments later (I didn't receive instructions with it). Regardless of how loose or tight I kept the guide, the string kept jumping track. The screws used to hold the lever device that engages and disengages the cog are cheap and weak. As soon as I received them, two were bent. Additionally, one piece broke off in my buttstock and I had to drill it A new crossbow can be a real pain in the neck to do. As you can see, this hook was meant to fit the Whitetail Hunter II, because it has a retaining divet for the hook, all of a sudden popping off whenever you shoot at it. Due to the hook's placement on the back of the buttstock, you will have to place your cheek on the back of the buttstock if you plan on using the retaining divet. The box had been thrown out when I tried to return it. You should hit the gym if you have trouble drawing your crossbow or wait until rifle season arrives if you are having trouble.

I have nothing more to say than this is The crank coking device I have been looking for is this one
3/5

I took it to Cabela's to have it installed because I was afraid that I would screw They got a second one after their first screw failed to reach plastic threading, the metal end of the screw had broken off during installation. Upon cocking the first time, the crank string was frayed as soon as the screws were threaded. People who are very experienced with archery are participating in this event. This is a very common issue with Barnett cocking devices, they told us. Third time around, and they still had the same trouble, and said they weren't confident my bow would be 100% safe with this device in place. They removed it, tuned it for free, Despite being 5'3" tall and my husband cocking it for me until now, the main reason I needed the crank cocking device was because I was needing a way to crank the rifle before I spent any time It was the only shot I would have, so I really hoped this crank worked. In the future, I hope to invest in a Wicked Ridge or Parker.
