Questions & Answers

Have you ever had a problem with inserts coming out in the cold? Is it below zero degrees?

No, and I also use it to help hold my lighted nocks in place a little tighter.

What is the temperature at which this glue melts?

The temperature is 137 degrees Fahrenheit or 280 degrees Fahrenheit. The temperature has dropped to 8 degrees.

Is it possible to use a glue gun, or is it only possible to use a flame?

I believe it is too large for a glue gun. I use it in conjunction with an alcohol burner.

Have you ever had issues with the glue softening in hot weather?

It has a melting point of around 275 degrees Fahrenheit. When it's 100 degrees outside, there will be no softening or plastic. It's going to work. The only scenario I can think of where this might be an issue is if you leave a handful on your driveway in the sun all afternoon. I doubt it will get hot enough to remove anything even then.

My only option for a hot-weather outfit is a pair of slack Build a melting arrow
5/5

This is fantastic. It's very convenient to be able to adjust your inserts fairly easily, even on carbon arrows. Especially with Easton's HIT inserts, which can be difficult to fully insert with the tool provided (pro tip: use a different tool). In the arrow, install the inserts without any nocks. When you remove the tool, the nock creates a seal, allowing air pressure to build up as you push in the insert, forcing it out a mm or two. There are no nocks, seals, or pressures.

This is the best hot melt for arrows
5/5

If you're going to use hot melt glue for your arrow points, this is the hot melt glue you should use. The biggest benefit is that it melts quickly and glides easily onto the point. It also means that you don't have to heat the point very much to melt the glue, making it very easy to get a very light and smooth coating around the arrow, with very little excess glue coming off when sliding the point into the shaft. This eliminates the need to remove excess glue globs from the shaft. However, whatever you do have to clean off comes off very easily, making putting in arrow points a breeze with this glue. With no doubt, the best hot melt glue.

Working much better than the yellow bohning hot melt
5/5

This is my second time using hot melt; the first time I used yellow bohning flex tite, all the inserts came out. br>br>I used this hot melt glue to redo a half-dozen arrows. Denatured alcohol was used to clean and prep the shafts and inserts. A torch was used to heat the glue, which was then applied liberally to the insert, which was then placed over heat to make the glue fluid. To evenly distribute the glue, use pliers to hold the insert and screw it into the shaft. Into a glass of cool water, I dipped the tip of the arrow, which had just been installed. After the glue had cooled, I removed the excess. br>br>Each and every insert has remained securely in place in the shaft. It's all good.

Nocks for crossbows This is what I use to keep the nocks and inserts in place on my Zombie Slayer bolts
5/5

Because the nocks are made of plastic, melting a small amount in a metal bowl is the easiest way to use them. I took a chunk out and measured it with a metal measuring spoon. Then, using a heat gun, heat the spoon until it becomes liquid. Last but not least, I have to dip the end of the nock in and quickly set it into the end of the bolt to keep the Alpha nocks in place. It securely holds both nocks and inserts in place, but unlike epoxy, it allows you to easily remove them later.

This product listing's photo is a disaster
4/5

After gluing my first dozen arrows, I realized that the same manufacturers who recommend cyanoacrylate/superglue for gluing inserts into carbon shafts also recommend a method for removing them: Slide hammer the insert out after removing the nock. As a result, I'm not going to use hot melt on new shafts because I'm tired of having to re-shaft them. They should be glued together.

Low-temperature glue that is simple to use is my recommendation
5/5

Bohning has a long history, and I will recommend them to anyone looking for dependable DIY products. As long as I've been an Archer, I've been using Bohning products. Always excellent in terms of quality and consistency. I used a heat gun on low to install point inserts for my new shafts, but I've heard of people using a hair dryer as well. The best part is that you have the option of un-installing it. Carry out the procedure in the same manner.

Components can be easily removed
5/5

It's simple to take out! Has been storing the inserts for the compound bow arrows I use. When my arrow lengths and bow are tuned/finalized, I'll switch to epoxy.

This is a great item at a great price; I've used it before and really like it

This two-piece set was discovered by me. I took advantage of a pack deal and purchased more than I required, which will ensure that I have enough supplies for a long time.
