Well, scissors can be used for pretty much anything that can be cut, but these are set up and designed for cutting line, and I don't think they'd be a good choice for anything else.

I've been on the lookout for a good pair of scissors to cut the thick spiderwire fishing line I use for beading. I looked in sporting goods stores but couldn't find anything that looked like it would work (most of the scissors were $15 or more). I saw these on Amazon for a great price and figured, what have I got to lose? I'll send them back if they don't work. and, surprise, surprise: They're fantastic! I can highly recommend these to anyone, especially those who bead with fishing line (and spiderwire, which I adore). Clean, smooth, and effortless cutting is possible with these scissors. They are OUTSTANDING!.
It effortlessly cuts Mono, Braid, and Lead Core. Although they appear to be a little large at first, the scale pattern and size of the handles make them surprisingly easy to use and precise. I've had three pairs on the boat for the majority of this season and they've seen a lot of action. When we change the line halfway through the season, I usually need to replace braid scissors. So far, so good, and they may still be usable next year. They cost a little more than other well-known brands, but they are well worth the money. br>br>Update as of November 2019. For the past two seasons, I've been using these scissors exclusively. Still razor-sharp and a dream to cut. As a backup, I purchased three new pairs, which are still sealed in their packaging. Let's take a look at season 3. I just spray it down with some reel magic and a fishy nag rag to keep it clean. On one of the local saltwater party boats, I recommended Cuda to a friend. He is a firm believer in them! Hands down the best braid scissorsbr>br>Update as of August 2020: After three seasons of hard use, the cuda's are starting to become a little dull. We've relegated one pair to our fluorocarbon leader box because they still work great on mono. Place the new scissors on the deck of the boat. Well done, oh oh oh oh oh oh o I've never had a pair of fishing scissors that have lasted as long as these have. I'll be a repeat customer.
3" on the list. The package specifies a value of 5. 5". 20lb braid is not cut cleanly by the tip. br>br>Does a better job cutting towards the hinge, but the heavier line slips a little. br>br>Cuts 65 lb hollow core braid OK, just need to pull it apart. br>br>Does a better job cutting towards the hinge, but the heavier line slips a little. br>br>Does a better job cutting towards the hinge, but the heavier line slip br>br>I bought these to cut tag line off spools when adding new line. br>br>The cheaper 3" micro scissors from the se brand with the circular handle (rather than these with the d shaped handle) cuts cleaner at the tip and is also less expensive.
The old ones could cut wire but not braided line; these, on the other hand, could cut braided line like butter. I cut a piece of a spool straight from the package. I doubled it and sliced through 20 pounds with ease. I went inside right away and ordered two more for myself and my fishing partner as back-ups. br>br>After a week of fishing, I'm going to make some changes. Anything else on the water paled in comparison to the Cuda braid shears. I'm not going to fill my boat with anything else. It's long-lasting and simple to use. Now that I have a few pairs, I'm starting to notice them on professional players' decks. Although some people prefer the larger scissor style, Cuda is becoming increasingly popular.
It's a little stiff at first, but with use, it should loosen up. So far, I'm liking them. My only complaint is that there is no way to connect them to a lanyard, and the blue foam is so thick that getting a clip over it is difficult. These would be even better if they had a small lanyard tab. We'll keep cutting while we see how long they last.
I have large man hands, and it's often difficult for me to find shears and snippers that I can confidently use without having to grasp them with the tips of my fingers. Even with thin cotton gloves on, my fingers fit into the handles. The snip is razor-sharp and lightning fast. Shears that can be used to cut wet or dry nylon line.
These scissors cut braid as well as or better than JB's offering for less than a third of the price! Best braid scissors I've found.
To cut my braid fishing lines, I bought a single pair of scissors, which worked perfectly. That was for more than ten dollars. I decided to try this three-piece set after accidentally kicking it into the water. Both the price and the performance were excellent. It's also small enough for me to carry it around in my pocket. This is an excellent product.
