This is a five-star review. After purchasing 18 months ago, I am writing this review One long haul flight to New Zealand and several domestic flights back here in the United States have been involved with this case. We have no complaints to make. I like this bag because it fits my bag and shoes While the shell has clearly been subjected to wear and tear, this is to be expected As I said before, this is all of very high There is one problem, however However, not the latches themselves, but the pins that keep the latches in place, thus basically sealing the case shut after the latches have broken Hard plastic is used for these. The brittleness of the object makes it difficult to use. It seems that the main locking latch pin broke during transit, but the latch stayed in place, otherwise it could have fallen off during What I want to ask you is this This is about as easy a fix as you can get No need to deal with the warranty process, I'll just head to Ace Hardware and buy a bunch of stainless steel pins and replace it (them) myself, but the point is, I shouldn't even have to do that. In the end, it's pretty pointless if those pins fail, because even if the case is bulletproof, they're useless Your case could open up at any time. It's a tiny cost-saving measure from SKB that I am CERTAIN came up during product development, and they kind of took the cheaper route with plastic over metal. Close to making it! This is five stars away from perfect. It is not deterrent, I wouldn't say You can buy the case, but maybe also think about investing in steel pins before you use it, or to keep an eye on them if you have the case already. Thanks a lot.
This is a great book.
I recommend it strongly. The opening mechanism is solid, handles are attached, the bottom has two wheels and it is more than Only thing I dislike is that the tough molded plastic is so slick that it is very hard to attach tape and labels The baggage tags for my baggage can be tied to the handles, but the address labels I use for shipping (UPS/FedEx etc. ) are nearly impossible to stick to. A few small areas are necessary to make this work If I could attach permanent or temporary information please let me know. This would be a great improvement if we could include information such as home address, destination address, etc. Other than that, this is an excellent product at a competitive price.
Originally I had a soft case for my golf clubs, but wanted to switch to a hard case to provide better protection. I travel with my clubs about two times every year. If you use a stand bag and travel light, then this case will work better as it is narrow and heavy. It is likely to go over the standard weight limit in aeroplanes. The case is also moderately difficult to handle due to its weight and inflexible nature, so if you have trouble lifting heavier objects, you may want to consider a lighter alternative.
SKB golf cases are the best. I have three and they are very durable and have excellent latches (including a TSA lock on the latch in the center), plus they easily roll. A few years ago, despite regular use and air travel, the top handle bracket on one of my cases broke loose. When I called SKB, the response was immediate and outstanding, probably the best experience I've ever had with customer service. As well as a replacement part (free of charge), the technician gave me some useful tips on how to maintain the case in good condition even if it is used heavily. sent me a replacement wheel (free of charge) and mentioned that eventually (we know how baggage handlers are) a wheel may be damaged and that if I have this wheel assembly with me, I can fix it on the spot. The fact that they go to such lengths to support their product is unique among companies. I could not be more pleased with this situation.
One of my few complaints about it is the length, which is 2" too long for fencers, as well as the difficulty fitting into many medium-sized utility.
