In the end, I removed one of the flags and noticed the elastic holding the two pieces together had come loose the tip of the flag also fell off inside the ground. Today, I received more flags and put them in the yard for practice. On the second flag, when I took it off, the flag pieces all stayed together except the flag tip had fallen in I'm very disappointed that the flags have malfunctions right out of the box, but they're still usable.
When I purchased them, I thought they would be mini flags or half-flags. There must have been a mistake in my reading of Flag sticks can be used alone as just mini flags. These are full-size golf flags, but you can also use them as mini flags. However, the flag sticks are a bit thin and tend to move a lot in the wind. Overall, they are well made. There is a bit of wiggle with the stick because the diameter of the stick is smaller than the diameter of the cup hole.
