Care must be taken when washing a pair like this, colors can run and there can be shrinkage on the first few washes, best to handwash in warm water, add vinegar or another anti-fungal agent if necessary (e.g. Plan to run/shrink the business). With a scale height of 5'3" and a waist measurement of 26", the small fits comfortably at the high waist. If I was any bigger, the side tie would be a gap. Despite the adjustable tie, the pants are made in such a way that if you aren't able to get the tie at its smallest setting, you could see the skin. When I cross the ties and wrap them around to tie on the opposite hip, it works best for me. Having a secure closer helps smooth out any bumps caused by the waistband. br>I like to wear these high up with a cropped black T shirt. It's so cool and casual but also so interesting to wear. It is soft and comfortable, however it has a tendency to wrinkle, so you will have to steam or iron them before wearing. It's also very long, which I like. Normally, all pants off the rack are too long for me (I need about a 28" inseam), but these hit me right at the top of the I like it.
