The hassle of returning the item was not worth it. Where else can you shop?.
Hugger Mugger bolsters are used in my studio, so I've been using them three times a week for the past six years as my standard reference bolster. br>br>I've read reviews that claim this is the best value option, with some even claiming that this model is nearly identical. It also has a washable cover, according to the manufacturer. So that knocked it out of the park for me, and I went ahead and placed an order. br>br>This bolster isn't even close to being in the same league. It's not nearly as sturdy or firm as the HM, and after a few hours of use, the cotton batting inside began to become lumpy in places. I'd never seen anything like it with the Hugger Mugger bolsters at my studio, and they'd been there for over 6 years (though I'm not sure how often they're replaced-- I was also surprised at how easily I could bend my bolster almost in half. br>br>I was also surprised at how easily I could bend my bolster nearly in half. It was terrible when used with two yoga blocks to create a reclining slanted backrest for open heart positions, as the yoga blocks dug into and visibly deformed the bolster. In my experience, this does not occur with HMs, at least not to the extent that has been observed. br>br>I despise the idea of having to dry clean a frickin' yoga bolster, but I'm going to order an original Hugger Mugger, perhaps in dark gray so it can last a little longer between professional cleanings. It'll be a pain in the buttocks, but at least I'll be able to practice with a functioning bolster. br>br>Would I recommend this if you're on a really tight budget? I suppose, but it's such a bad option that I'd recommend saving up for something better. br>br>I really wanted this budget option to work out, but it's just not up to the task. Also, the fact that it looked like crap after an afternoon of use, with its loose fitting cover, lumps, and irregular shape, has convinced me that it won't last very long in real life and that I'll have to buy a replacement. br>br>I'm curious as to how they made the product photo look so good. br>br>Just don't buy it, or if you must, be ready to return it.
It only had one handle, which was extremely inconvenient. I was looking for a bolster similar to the ones at my yoga studio, but this one was a little too boxy. too long. It was supposed to be used for yin yoga, but it buckled. For some poses, I tucked it in a little. I'm glad I was able to get it back to you. I found one by "YogaAccessories" that was a little more expensive and overstuffed. encouraging.
I had been attempting to make a bolster out of pillows, but it was not working out. I practice restorative yoga at least three times a week at home, and this bolster has made it so much more enjoyable. It had no odor, which is a common complaint I've heard about other bolsters. This one is well-made and a pleasure to use. I'm so glad I went ahead and bought it.
It's a sturdy support, and the odor from being in the plastic bag dissipated quickly after an hour or two outside.
I bought this yoga bolster to help stretch out my back and shoulders. We have foam rollers and other similar items, but this pillow is ideal! It provides just the right amount of firm support without being too firm. It has been tried by several members of my family for various reasons, and they have all enjoyed it. One of our younger boys has expressed an interest in cuddling on it. This is fantastic!.
These are very similar to Hugger Mugger for a fraction of the price; the only thing I would change is to have a handle on both ends of the bolster, but that isn't a deal breaker.
