but it was well worth the effort Without a doubt, this is my favorite stopwatch of all time. Because I have several summary stopwatches and am unsure which ones I prefer to use during swim meets, I prefer the yellow. The Finis 3X–300 is a yellow version of the Finis 3X–100. br>br>The extra split feature on the stopwatch is something I like. You will be able to understand this if you are a swim coach. When you split with the left button on most stopwatches, the time continues to tick away. That's fine, unless you're timing a 500-meter freestyle and lose track of your position. The fourth function enters the picture at this point. The fourth function is a split function as well, but pressing the left button resets the timer to zero. You have the option of switching back- During a race, you will be switching back and forth between all of the various functions. I simply prefer to leave it on this setting because it relieves me of one more thing to worry about. br>br>What I didn't like about this stopwatch is that I've already used a few of them. If you drop it too many times, it will almost certainly stop working. It will also not work if you barely enter the water, as I have done on several occasions and am sure all of you swim coaches have done as well. I even took it to a watchmaker to see if he could professionally repair it so that it would work again, because it was such an expensive watch. It would have been well worth the ten dollars, or whatever the price was. He was unable to repair either of the two watches I had brought in. br>br>Apart from that, this watch is one I would recommend. It appeals to me greatly.
Finis is the only way to go if you want to buy a stopwatch. As a swim coach, I bought this stopwatch and have had no problems with it; it can take multiple splits and is water resistant. (I wouldn't, however, immerse the watch in water. ) br>As a high school coach, the longest race I have to time is the 500 meters, so I'm guessing you'll hit a split limit for longer races, such as the mile. br>This is a great buy. Mine hasn't failed in 5 years since I bought it.
I've used a variety of stopwatches in my time as a swim coach. This is, without a doubt, the best watch I've ever had. It's tough, which is good because I have a habit of dropping things while coaching on deck. In addition, this particular stopwatch model has a new feature that allows a coach to take splits in a mode other than what I was used to. This mode allows the coach to take the split during a race, starting the new split at "0," so you don't have to do any mental math. This is beneficial to me because I am terrible at math, and it is ideal for people like me who are lazy. This is the only watch I wear these days.
This watch was purchased at the same time as my wife's purchase of a much less expensive watch from a high-end retailer. On swimoutlet, there is a new up-and-coming brand (Sporti). com. I needed the advanced features of the Finis watch because I'm a coach, but my wife just uses hers to sit on the pool's edge and keep time as she laps. swims. The Sporti stopwatch, which is right next to the pool, gets a lot of splash action, while the Finis hangs around my neck. However, after being near a pool, my Finis watch develops condensation inside the glass and is rendered unreadable by the end of my practice, whereas the drenched Sporti watch continues to function normally. The Finis watch usually recovers the next day, but after 7 months of use, it has simply stopped working. Water resistance is not a feature of this watch. Swimoutlet is a great place to save money. Sporti stopwatches are available at www. sporti. com.
My daughter's swim meet went off without a hitch. It's incredibly simple to work with!.
The pace function allows you to keep track of how many strokes per minute there are in a minute.
