Questions & Answers

When using this pedometer on a bicycle, does it count "steps"?

I discovered that it does not, but I believe there are pedometers that do. If I may make a suggestion, look up Bike Pedometers. I hope this information was useful.

What makes this different from the HJ 112?

Umm. What exactly is the thing in question?

Is this something you can put on your shoe? Pockets aren't a feature of my workout pants. On a shoe vs. a pocket, how precise would it be?

It's meant to be worn between the shoulders and the knees. Only the steps taken with that foot are counted when you attach it to your shoe. Wear the strap under your clothes by looping it around your underwear.

Is there a power off mode on this pedometer, or does it remain on all the time? If you want to restart, it appears that you won't be able to reset your steps. ?

There is no power off button on the unit. You'll need to remove the battery. Pushing the reset button in back, I believe, is the only way to reset your steps on any given day. You'll have to redo your settings after that.

Excellent Substitute for the HJ- 112 I've always been a big fan of Omrom's HJ-series
5/5

For years, 112 has been my phone number. I used to adore my old HJ- 112 Unfortunately, I was careless and left it clipped to my pants while running them through the washer. As a result, I made the decision to purchase a new pedometer. This new model piqued my interest, so I decided to try it. It appeals to me greatly. Compared to the HJ-, it has a few advantages. 112, and it's also less expensive! The following are the differences in a nutshell: 1) The circumference is smaller, but the thickness is slightly greater. 2) It is painted in a different color scheme. 3) There is one fewer button; the reset function, which I rarely used on my previous pedometer, has been removed. 4) The real improvement is that, while the HJ-II is still a work in progress, the HJ-II is now For 7 days, 112 saved your Kcal burned, total steps, aerobic steps, and total miles, but not your aerobic minutes. They were only visible for the duration of that particular day. The HJ- For 7 days, 113 saves aerobic minutes along with all others. For me, this was a big step forward. I like to keep track of my aerobic distance and time because it helps me figure out my walking speed, which is an area of my program that I'm working on improving. 5) On the KCal display, they've also included a fat gram burned. To be honest, it's just the KCal multiplied by 9. It adds nothing to my life, but it might inspire someone else. br>br>In conclusion, I believe this model is excellent; It has all of the advantages of the HJ- 112 (I find it to be just as accurate, etc. ) and it comes with its own set of advantages. Namely: It's a little smaller, saves your aerobic times and distance for seven days, calculates fat grams burned, and is less expensive! FYI: Mine came with a battery, so it's not like they're trying to save money in that way. Amazon/Japan was where I got mine. R, and even with the small shipping fee ($2), it was still cheaper than the HJ- 112 It's a fantastic motivator, and I wholeheartedly recommend it. This is also not a European model, despite what other reviews claim. Distances are measured in miles, weight is measured in pounds, stride is measured in inches, and so on.

It's fantastic - love it! I've been using the HJ-only for a while now
5/5

For the past three days, I've been using the 113 Walking Style Pedometer, and I'm very happy with it. This device allows the user to customize their walking stride length, allowing the pedometer to provide an extremely accurate reading of the number of steps taken. The fact that it counts "Aerobic Steps" separately is one of my favorite features, which is especially useful when I'm working out on the treadmill. This device also recognizes when you're doing an aerobic workout, i. e. a run, walk, or jog that lasts longer than 10 minutes. It also saves information for seven days, and it's simple to compare data by scrolling through each day. It's simple to set up and use this pedometer. I'm so happy with it that I've already placed an order for a second one in case the first one breaks! Love it! br>br>This is a revision. I've been using this pedometer for a week now and I'm very pleased with it. The clip is strong and secure, but if you attach it to the waistband of a pair of slacks made of a smooth material with no thicker or elastic waistband, it may fall off. The leash saved my pedometer three times today at work (my work slacks don't have pockets). It's great that it has a leash on it! Other reviews I've read claim that the unit doesn't count all of the steps, but it does. The instruction booklet states that you must walk for 4 seconds before it counts your steps, but what it really means is that once you've walked for at least 4 seconds, it adds in your steps starting with the first one you took. I double-checked this with my pedometer and discovered that it was correct. Also, once I've been on the treadmill for 10 minutes, it counts the steps I've taken since first getting on as "Aerobic Steps," so if I've been on the treadmill for 60 minutes, it shows my total Aerobic Steps = 60 minutes when I get off and look at the unit. I just got my second one in the mail today, and I'm keeping it as a backup. It is unquestionably worth the money, but I do wish it were waterproof.

It's dead on
4/5

I've never been able to program a pedometer properly before. Even after multiple attempts at programming, they have always been way off. On the first try, this pedometer was accurate. It seemed a little jittery at first, so I increased my stride by an inch, but this wasn't the right setting for me. I went back to my original stride length, which is now working perfectly. Even when I tested clipping it to my purse, I was blown away by how accurate it is. The set button is a minor annoyance. It's tiny and difficult to press, but I suppose that's to prevent the information from being reprogrammed by accident. Also, make sure it's clipped securely when you're wearing it. It fell off twice in my vehicle as I was getting out on the first day I wore it. When I realized it was missing, it was luckily on or near my seat. That was my fault; however, the grip appears to be less secure than it could be. br>br>Overall, it delivers on its promises and is by far the best pedometer I've ever owned. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> I misplaced it the other day after only wearing it a couple of times. It had been clipped to my pants, but it had come loose during my housecleaning. I haven't found it yet, but I know I lost it in my house, which is a good thing. I'm hoping it didn't end up in the trash or on the burn pile, but the clip could use some work. A good clip should, by definition, stay secure, and this one wasn't. I'll have to figure out a way to keep it from falling off if I find it.
