It does not, in fact- It simply keeps track of your steps.
This is exactly what I was looking for. The only issue is that the part that attaches it to your belt/waistband broke after a while; however, I like it because it's not too big. It would have been better if it had been made with a different clip.
No, I don't think that's true. It appears to have a lithium battery with a long life span, which you could replace if necessary.

Until yesterday, everything went smoothly with the pedometer. The device is compact and simple to operate. It's nothing more than a simple pedometer. I didn't want one that was computer-connected or had a lot of bells and whistles. It just stopped working after 4353 steps the other day. I couldn't get the screen to clear to see if there was a problem or not. I'm so disappointed because it's such a small device that did exactly what I needed it to do - Count the number of steps. This happened after I'd had it for just over three weeks - I'm sorry for having to return it, but that appears to be my only option. br>br>Update 6/19/18br>br>I finally found a small enough screwdriver to open the battery compartment. I was able to revive the pedometer by removing and replacing the battery, and I am now using it again (fingers crossed). My only gripe is that the screw they use is ridiculously small, and there aren't many screwdrivers that can handle such a tiny screw. By the way, the screwdriver I used was an eyeglass screwdriver (in case you were curious). I'll update again if anything changes. br>br>1st Update br>br> 19br>br>I'm a huge fan of this pedometer. That said, when I started my day the other day, I couldn't get the pedometer to zero out. It didn't turn into a blizzard on my watch - I couldn't get it to zero out, so it kept counting steps. So, with the help of my trusty tiny screwdriver, I extracted the original (yes, original) battery and replaced it with a new one. This time it didn't work; it still counts steps but doesn't reset when I press the reset button. I tried two more new batteries, and the same thing happened. As I previously stated, I adore this pedometer, but I am unable to use it in its current state unless someone knows how to fix it.
This is the pedometer for you if you want something simple and easy to use. I can't tell you how many pedometers I've bought and then thrown away because I couldn't figure out how to use them. It's not going to get any easier than this. Each day, you simply press a button to reset the clock, and that's it! I've had mine for a few weeks and am very happy with it.
This is fantastic! Despite the fact that my phone tracks my steps, I use it every day. I have a bad habit of forgetting my phone somewhere and then losing track of how many steps I've taken. It was small enough not to get in the way and came with a charger, which was extremely useful. I'm going to get another one for my husband!.
It has a tight clip to keep it from falling off your shorts while you're jogging, it's incredibly easy to use, and it's the perfect size. I also like the little footprints design. br>br>Please keep in mind that this is a preliminary assessment, and I may make changes if the device fails me. br>br>**Updated on 03/08** The device is in good working order and remains turned on at all times. However, I peeled off the display plastic yesterday, and the display is now slightly misted up. Moisture appears to have gotten inside and wrecked the place. I can't read the numbers clearly, so I'm thinking of returning them and replacing them.
I purchased this device in order to complete a work challenge. It performed admirably over the course of the eight weeks. Then, while on vacation, I was wearing it to keep track of my steps, and for some reason, it malfunctioned and won't reset. I wish the return period had not expired because I would have returned it because it is no longer usable. Overall, I liked it because I could wear it around my neck rather than on my wrist. But, alas, all good things must come to an end sooner or later.
This may appear to be a minor gripe, but it could be significant to a shopper. A plain black pedometer with no text is shown in the photo. A black pedometer with lime green text and graphics was sent to me. I passed on a similar one that was half the price because I needed something plain black. br>br>The quality appears to be questionable. It appears to be a giveaway item, and it most likely is, given that it sells for less than a buck on promotional product and wholesale websites. I've requested a return. br>br>However, the size is quite small.
There are no buttons to remember what they do or how to use in order to move on to the next step in the setup process. There is only one button on this device. Bam. Love it! (One of the things you were supposed to rate in the overall rating section of this was "Mobile App. ") That's a phrase I'm unfamiliar with.
The display occasionally locks up, but it otherwise works fine. I was able to clear it once by pressing the reset button, but the second time I had to pop open the case to loosen the battery and reset it. It is difficult to open the case. br>br> The screw was easy to remove, but I had to pry the case open partially with a flat screwdriver to loosen the battery and reset the display. I didn't attempt to completely disassemble the case, which would be required to replace the battery.
