My knowledge of it does not extend to that. You don't need to worry about it.

Does it come with a protective cover to prevent it from breaking if ?

I did not receive a cover or a pouch for the camera.

Do I have to wear sunglasses to read the display?

It is true that the display numbers are illuminated in green. If there is a glare from the sun, tilt the device away from it to make numbers more visible.

What is the FDA approval status of this particular model?

IF THE FDA does not approve a device, then to my knowledge it is accurate, as I verified this against my doctor's office oxygen meter.

The text is easy to follow. The fact that it shuts itself off once the finger is removed is a plus for me. It arrived on time, was well packaged, and the instructions were clear and easy to understand I can understand.

I had it with me when I hiked

In my first aid kit, I took it to Philmont and brought it out during a mountain climb in order to check stragglers it's harder to argue against facts that are measured. This is an outdoor book that can be read easily. It's super light weight, the batteries are unusually heavy, but we powered it from my headlamp batteries since we weren't going on a night hike.

Hands with small sizes will not be able to use

As it stated on the packaging that children or small hands can use this oximeter, so I purchased it. Small fingers can't be read by it, since it doesn't read them. In spite of my attempts to return it, you are not able to because of a If you don't want to waste your money, don't buy it!.
