There is no way I can tell. The size I bought was a medium for my daughter who was a size 8 or 9.

As I have a 25in waist, a medium fit me perfectly, but it was a bit too short for me so I had to opt for a I underestimated the extent to which I saw From what other reviews said, I was sure this skirt would be perfect! On the image of the skirt, you can see the pockets and the waistband of the attached shorts underneath. I suppose I could wear this in public since it doesn't cover me up too much but I'm not sure how I can wear it in public due to the way it looks. There is a thread that runs through the fabric. A perfect skirt would have existed if the skirt wasn't almost translucent.
The inner liner shorts are very tight spandex with plastic snaps attached to the outer skirt. They fit my 6 year old girl very well and are just long enough that when she bends down to place her golf ball, her bottom does not show to the entire world. The girl actually loves to wear it and would wear it all day long.
