I had been searching for something exactly like this. A lighter vest that goes with both jeans and dockers. As a big guy who stands 280 five feet nine inches, the xxl fits me perfectly. In the vest, I was able to wear an xxl even though I was normally a 3x. My 5'9" height made the 3x too long for me so I ordered the 3x in a different color. My order was a medium, and it is a very good fit. It is my height and weight which make me 5'10" and 175 pounds. I especially like that the vest is light weight and is perfect to wear over a long sleeve tee or polos. I would definitely recommend it.

There is no bulk whatsoever. I wore it over a dress shirt. I wore a Medium and it fitted perfectly. The size of my body is 5'10" and I weigh 162 pounds.
