I wasn't sure if I liked the jacket at first. It's bulky, which I don't usually like, but it's very warm, and I haven't had a really warm jacket in a long time, if ever, so I kept it. br>br>Last week, when the temperature dropped below 30 degrees for the first time, I put it on and felt the same way; I don't like the two sleeves at my wrist, and it's bulky, but it was so warm that I kept wearing it. The next day, I wore it out in the morning, and it warmed up to the mid-thirties by afternoon, with sunshine, so I unzipped the fleece liner and discovered that it's very comfortable without it, with an internal pocket for my second phone. I've been going without the liner for the past few days and I'm really enjoying it. The easy open side zipper makes accessing your waistline easy despite the jacket's length (works with fleece as well), I discovered the magnetic close front pocket is very useful, and I noticed the zippers are extremely smooth and open and close by themselves without bunching the material and hanging up. The stitching is excellent, with no loose threads, and it feels very sturdy. The fleece is also suitable for use as a jacket when worn separately. Tonight, I reassembled them and discovered that the bulk and two sleeves have grown on me. br>br>The only other thing I don't like are the tight flaps over the front pockets; they're there for weather protection, so they'll probably be fine (I haven't been in the rain yet), but they make it difficult to get my larger hands in there, and I use pockets frequently. br>br>Overall, it's a good value for the money, with a lot of features and a solid build.
In the mountains of North Carolina, I work as a security guard at a condominium building. Even in the dead of winter, with temperatures in the single digits, 20 mph winds, and snow falling, one of my responsibilities this winter was to patrol the building's perimeter. I stayed warm and dry while completing my rounds thanks to this parka and Propper's Full Zip Tech Sweater, which I used to replace the original liner. br>br>The drop down id panels were also ideal for my needs, as my job requires me to be easily identifiable by residents and visitors, and I had to work outside in extremely high winds, and the hook and loop attachment points held up beautifully.
With the fleece liner zipped in, it sheds water well and is fairly warm (i. e. If you're only wearing a t-shirt, it should be enough to keep you warm. underneath the shirt). The included fleece lining does not work well with layers, which is my only complaint. It can be difficult to put this coat on while the fleece liner is zipped in if you're wearing an extra sweatshirt, as the fleece tends to bind against any type of fabric. This proves to be a significant reversal of events. Now it's time to put the fleece liner to good use.
It's impossible to use the hood because it's far too big.
There should be a drawstring at the waist, but the overall quality is acceptable.
During the winter, I use roughly four years. This parka is perfect for any weather. You can remove your fleece on a sunny day. Use with a fleece on cold days. It's made from a breathable material. For law enforcement, this is a fantastic design.
