Long-duration/offshore fishing is a breeze with this one. If the price is right, this is a fantastic jacket. br>br>Front zipper is detached, but it can still be zipped up with minimal effort on the front. (added for safety) Is there a way to get replacement zipper dongles? (If there are any, please send me a link)br>br>I've been in the rain for over 24 hours straight on this, it's been windy as hell, and I've been sailing several times in bad weather. Underneath must always be dry. br>br>I got it for less than 140. 00 is a fantastic price. I'm not going to pay $300 for something. 00, or whatever the current time is.
I bought this jacket to wear while sailing in Puget Sound in Seattle during the winter or when the weather is a little cooler. I tried it on for "operational fit" and "potential use" while sailing recently, and I can say that this jacket will be useful for providing warmth while allowing me to move freely on deck and in the cabin. These were important factors in my decision to buy the jacket, and it appears to be a good one.
Just a heads up! If you're not looking for attention, this jacket will bring it to you. It stands out from the crowd. But that's not the point; it's FWG, after all.
I usually wear nothing but a T-shirt when I test my jackets. underneath the shirt Fortunately, it snowed in my city the other day, so I was able to run errands in just a T-shirt. Under my coat, I'm wearing a shirt. It was warm in my chest, back, and neck. The coldest part of my body was my arms. The jacket is a little roomier than your typical medium-sized coat, which is a good thing because it allows me to layer up quite a bit. I wish the fleece on the torso was lined all the way through the jacket.
A winter coat with a good rain jacket. It'll keep you warm in the fall and spring, but once the temperature drops below 32 degrees, it'll be useless. It has a great feel to it and is well-made.
Very attractive design. It's a little tight on me, and I'm usually a size small 3/4. It had a musty odor, as if it had been stored in a chest, attic, or an old boat. It had to be soaked in a vinegar/soap bath and dried outside. It took three times for the musty odor to go away. If it had been in the US, I would have returned it; hopefully the musty odor will fade with time; otherwise, I would have given everything a five star rating.
I wore this jacket offshore every day for 15 days while working as a sailor. Although it isn't particularly warm, it is excellent in every other way. Up north, it was perfect with a couple of hoodies underneath, and further south, it was perfect on its own. With this jacket, I barely noticed the 40 kts of rain and wind.
This was a Christmas present for my son. I was a little hesitant about purchasing this from Amazon, but the quality was excellent, and it arrived on time, looking exactly as it did in the pictures online.
