It is definitely an XL if she is tall, but if she is short, it may be too short. I bought an XL and my niece wore a 14/16 and it barely reached her waist. She is very thin and tall for her age but not tall for most women

What is the temperature difference between this product and my daughter's clothes? I am looking for a pullover jacket for her so she can be ready for the long, cold winter in Maine. ?

Because it has a thicker stiffer material than I was expecting, it keeps you quite warm, though it is quite thick and stiff. There are a few problems with it.

I hope she will wear it in the colder weather since I love this quality of material. It does seem to run a bit small, however. Usually she wears a size 14/16 girls, but we got her an XL youth.
