There is no way to tell how much area you are painting but think of it as a variable that has to do with the temperature The paint came out all over the place when I added a very small amount of thinner. I sanded that down and used plain paint without thinner for the second coat, and it worked just fine at 60-65. As I understand it, thinners are extremely flammable, and I was expecting they would come in some kind of container to keep them safe. However, this is not the case. We got the item in such a leaking state that it smelt the entire garage. The box was very wet inside, as I noticed when I opened it. As a precautionary measure, I cut the cardboard and placed it in a plastic bag to minimize the risk of fire. An insufficient seal on the cap was allowing water to leak out. am not sure if this item had been placed on the counter previously or not, but it was extremely dangerous and could have gone up in flames at any time.
As described, these thinners do not work with Total Protect epoxy at all, nor do Xylene or Xylene-based spray fluids which they suggest should be used. Total Boat's polyurethanes and other materials may also work well with this thinner. The epoxy they use is not suitable for their products.
The Atlantic BC responded as quickly as they could. When it was delivered, the can was leaking. It was the third time the can had to be replaced.
