It is most important to use a brush
5/5

From my point of view, there are three main things to consider. Taking care of the prime and surface is the first step. Using a Tack Rag and 180 or 200 grit paper, lightly scuff the surface with 180 or 200 grit paper if the surface has a solid layer of paint. Another crucial factor is the quality of the It is better to use oxtail brushes, unless you have or are able to obtain real Badger hair brushes. If you are painting a boat, two inches is acceptable. Thin the paint a little if needed. Be sure to brush evenly and do not drip. You should not paint over what you have already painted when it is wet. Do not apply a second coat until the first one is dry. The third factor is the Observe the weather reports and take precautions if necessary. Sorry, this is supposed to be about how the paint applied and dried. I found it very easy to apply and dried with a pleasant shimmer. It's too early to comment on the condition The boat is not yet in the water. You can rely on excellent customer support, do not guess, simply.

Be careful not to succumb to As I approached the end of the first coat, which had been well thinned, I was tempted to call the job done
5/5

It is incredible how smoothly this paint flows! Although it had been nearly thirty years since I painted a boat, and I had never used the type of paint used for this job, after the very first coat it looked so good that even The Bride (who is a stickler for "perfect") thought it was finished. The remainder of this paint is going to hardly let me wait for something else to use it on. It has never been something that I looked forward to before. As soon as the second coat had dried, I intentionally scratched it to see how strong it was, and I couldn't be more pleased with its The paint can had been damaged in shipping when it was delivered. In the lid edge, a serious dent had been made. I would not have been able to replace the lid if I had taken it off Put it in a sealed envelope. requested a replacement from Amazon, but I found that I was not able to return it due to a In a brief discussion with customer service, I was told to keep the dented can and I should expect a new can soon. The second can produced a small dent as well, but it was along the side and the lid was not damaged. It was a pleasure to be an Amazon customer and I was pleased with the speed with which the replacement arrived. Total Boat is an awesome company that makes top quality products, and I encourage anyone fascinated with top quality products to check out their various It's my first time relearning new techniques on a boat, and I've been messing with boats for years, but I think I still have a few to learn That's probably one of the first paintings I've done in 30 years, and technology has advanced rapidly. The quality of TotalBoat's information and quality of service required for this painting job made it a lot of fun.

This is a serious painting
5/5

The chemistry of this paint is one we would associate with commercial grade paint intended to be used I am very pleased with how well it covers and how durable it is. This is a great product at a reasonable price. One The best thing you can do is stir the paint with a large grade paint stick (these are available at Lowe's/Home It will be difficult to stir manually a gallon of paint with the paint stick provided with the gallon of paint you purchased. The pigment is very very thick and will prove very difficult to stir yourself. Although you won't be able to shake the pigment into solution, once it has been mixed, all constituents stay in solution no problem. It will be a pleasure to have this paint installed in your home.

Slide we used it to paint when we repainted a pool slide
5/5

I was very pleased with the results. It has a glossy finish, which makes it appear damp even after it is If you want to finish the coat the best, however, you should get I would have preferred if I had the thinner and could put on the final coat thin and easier. The paint is very thick and can be difficult to brush on for the final coat, so I would have preferred to get the thinner and use a thin final coat. To look good, at least two coats of polyurethane are required, but one more would have been even better, as you want it to be thin and spread more evenly like the last coat of polyurethane.

Even with four coats of paint, the paint looks great but it took a lot of time to apply
3/5

The thin coats of paint each took 16 to 24 hours to dry after we received them. Due to the fact that we did not read that in the advertisement, we felt deceived. I am a huge fan of this paint compared to previous car paints that I Originally, we planned to brush it on, but we decided it would be as much work as we could handle. As a result, we sprayed the first coat of paint. The Xylene is banned in our area, so we tried using a brushing thinner instead. As a result of all the runs in the first coat, I had to completely sand it off before spraying. Do not thin with brushing thinner if you are spraying. We tried it and it did not work, but that should have been evident based on the name. Using a tipping and rolling technique, we applied the next coat. There was no relief from the heat, even late at night. I was able to prevent the paint from dripping. A final coat was a last ditch effort. I thinned it with some reducer I had, but it was really just acetone, and sprayed it on. I am glad it worked out for the best. In order to get the roller marks out of the second coat before trying coat 4, we decided to wet sand it all. We ran out of paint with about 3 square feet to go. That coat sprayed on well but we ran out of paint soon after. Our wait for another quart, which will be delivered from the east coast, is continuing. But even though the results of our experiment were good, I would not try I would have paid more for a high quality car paint if I had it to do over. In short, reword For the majority of car paints, the coating time is about ten minutes. There would have been tremendous savings in cleaning alone (having to clean up each day after applying a coat)* Additionally, the manufacturer recommends xylene as a spraying thinner, but I am not sure if they realize there are not many sources of it. To get started, it would have been much easier if we had bought painting supplies locally and worked with local experts. In my opinion, this paint would be too sensitive to a temperature change unless you have a climate controlled paint booth. Wet paint can be difficult to keep bugs out for 4 days, so give it a shot!.
