As far as I can tell, it works well on Ipe. Teak guard needs to be prepped perfectly before installation or it won't There is a little bit more prep work than with teak, but overall it works fine.
The sealer has a light orange/gold tint, so whichever way you apply it, the teak would look slightly different. Since my teak pieces had become terribly dark from the elements, I power washed them to bring out their light, neutral color. How does teak's natural color differ from that of other woods? To prevent that, I wanted a protectant that would delay the darkening so that I wouldn't have to refinish everything every A total of four coats was recommended according to the directions. I had to apply two coats since there were lots of rungs on the rockers and benches I was finishing.
The finish must be completely removed if it contains oil or anything else. You will need to remove even the natural teak oil. Leaving the wood bare

It is a very good product, I thought it was quite expensive at first, but it lasted me the whole season on my 43' sailboat for the deck teak and toe rail teak with three applications of the product. Each season, you will need to wear 4 coats. Cleaning up this stuff is only a matter of wiping it up if you catch it right away or using a magic eraser pad if you don't. Once I have finished coating all the seats on the cockpit, I can do the next coat while I am still working my way around in the cockpit. It's hard to believe that it was possible to finish four coats in less than two hours.
This is really good It would be much easier to oil the teak than to apply oil. Walk away after putting on a couple of coats. Despite use for outdoor furniture for more than ten years, the furniture continues to be in excellent condition. It is however due to my lack of yearly coating that there are some differences in color. It would probably be the same as it was the first time I coated it if I kept up with It does not appear to be an issue since the color differences appear to be natural. I highly recommend this book!.
It's more of a topcoat than a stain. Ensures that protection is provided. Stains are a bit more challenging to apply because they basically stain the surface. You will need to test first, since it will change wood to a certain light brown color. This was applied to a teak table and it is looking like it will survive the first winter without noticeable changes in color. My experience with various products has led me to think that this may be the best. It would be great if it came in various skin tones that could be mixed together.
I have used it in the past and it does a good job on the floors of screened-in porches Porch in front of house.
It will last approximately 3-4 months. When exposed to direct sunlight, this is an excellent product that lasts three to four months. The steps on my boat will last much longer if they are covered, like the steps on my boat. It does not seem as pretty as teak oil to me. Rather than looking like finished furniture, it does look like it's been assembled. Whenever I have to choose between this and teak oil, I will pick this one.
I like this product because it is easy to work with and clean up after use. I found that the toughest part of the project was removing the old peeling varnish and preparing The teak will have a warm honey-like appearance after finishing with Teak Guard There is a colored finish on these guns. Having no more varnish to pull off, I'm feeling a huge relief. Only question is how long it lasts but just knowing that it won't need to be stripped again is very comforting. As it turns out, the 64 oz bottle covered a lot more surface area than I thought it would. Thanks for this purchase. I'm very happy with it.
For 7 years I have used this stuff in the Northwest with no problems.
The product is simple to use and leaves a nice finish when it's finished. On 15 year old teak furniture that I had applied 'teak oil' to protect them in the past, I used this product. In months, mildew developed on the pieces, and the process for cleaning had to be repeated. It has been a few months since I tried this product. With elbow grease, this product and the super cleaner, I was able to finish a piece that looks as good as new after three months. An enormous amount of effort is required to clean this, but it may be well worth it in the long run.
