The same thing happened to me when I bought mine. You can use it with either a long cable or a short cable.
As I recall, it is 24 feet long, so you’ll need two for a 50 foot cord. I do have a warning for you, these don’t last long if you live in the South. It only lasts about four years where I live in Florida It takes 5 months for the sun and environment to cause deterioration. My interest in these sleeves has waned considerably after the first 4 purchases. I now use the "Hardline" brand sleeves. Although only 4 months have passed, I am unsure if it has held up as long as the Marinco, but so far there is no evidence of damage. I found that Marinco's zipsleeve is the best looking and roomy enough inside to accommodate cords, hoses, and cables. Hardline's sleeves are much less accommodating as they are much more rigid and narrow. From the start, if I knew what I know, I would have my canvas guy make me a set of sleeves from Sunbrella, it will save me a lot of money
Should you have a water or cable tv line that does not have to go from one end to the other before it is connected, you should get it hooked up
I bought one made of nylon/polyester and it worked great but faded after 1 season in New England and fell apart by mid-season after 2 seasons.

This fit was very good (snug), and the sleeve made it easier to handle the two 30-mm tubes Because it held them together snugly, it is ideal for amp cords. By using the sleeve, the two cords gave the impression of being one An eight-sided cable was better than the traditional two-sided cables that wouldn't always keep together, or sometimes got twisted or looped just on one side. Furthermore, the sleeve ran along the length of the boat in black, so it didn't draw too much attention to itself. My boat’s power cords and zip sleeves went with it when I sold it, which is a shame. We bought a new boat, which came with two 30-footers My shore power inlets each allow 50 amps, so I thought I would get a couple of these sleeves to help tame the cords. MISTAKES ARE HUGE. A new design has been implemented that is worse than the previous one. A first problem is that the sleeves are way too large. As listed on the package, the sleeves are designed to fit 2 30-inch televisions I have two 5-amp cords (what I have) or I could use a single 50-amp cord It was true in the old design for the amp cord. There's almost as much space inside the new one as my forearm around, and it can accommodate four or five 30amp cords at once. The problem is that rather than being easy to handle, it is like having a big black firehose that is run through with two little wires. The program does not work like a single unit of easy-to-use The grip cord is much too large and there is too much fabric for a "coil" of power cord to be grasped easily enough. It also looks stupid. In addition to the fact that it's a huge baggy black firehose, some idiot at Marinco thought it would be cool to change the zipper to a (big 3/4" wide) yellow one. It's not just you who wants a snazzy, blingy power cord to pimp their gadgets Right? They're going to clean up the appearance of the boat at the dock, I think that this item looks a lot like the Fisher Price "my first power cord which is oversized and baggy. This was once a decent product, but is now Please read the update below

Update Since I just couldn't wait any longer, I decided to take the sleeves off and toss 'em (I waited too long to return them). And surprise! There was a problem with one of the zippers. So, let me restate There's literally no point to them.
It was a surprise to discover when the new zip sleeve arrived that it was BLUE (#Zip-3) Now that I used two zip sleeves on my power cord, I didn't want to return the blue one but to order another this time around. I think the blue might be better suited to last more than two boating seasons. I was again surprised to see only black Since the blue one is still available in only one color, I've contacted Amazon to ask what went wrong and how to get another blue one - they are working on finding out. The color black.
I fit two cords and a hose into mine. There is plenty The dock stays organized and is safer because cords are tucked away.
I love the cover for the cord set. Two 30-minute sessions were held The cords of amps are easy to handle. The cover is supported by convenient Velcro hangers, and there are enough of them so it doesn't sag when attached to my lifelines.
I am almost on my fourth set after 8 or 9 years. They keep your cord looking neat, but they don't last in the sun for more than two seasons before disintegrating. It would be great if they could make them more UV-resistant.
We are disappointed in the speed at which On top of that, the water only lasted two years on Lake Michigan in Wisconsin.
As everyone else has said about this product, it looks great for about a year then falls apart. There is no other product like it on the market so I buy one each.
