It did not lock into my pedestal when the male end was twist locked. There are other pedestals that I have tried. I contacted them thinking that my marina's outlets were worn out. During my visit to the marina, the electrician showed me how every other power cord was locked successfully. He called the marina's warranty department, and I sent him pictures and emails. We got a little carried away and they wanted me to measure this and that, and every time it was something else, which is hard when you aren't A video that I made showed that the device wouldn't lock, and had a second male head to show it was indeed It would have been much more efficient and productive for you if you sent me another cable, because I have a better use of my time than exhaustively testing your product. How would an owner of a boat decide that this is the right thing to do?.
In order to connect a pop-up tent to this marine cable assembly, I purchased a 50 foot assembly We have moved the trailer permanently to some family property where we have a shed/cabin and also a shed and a garage. Recently, we were able to bring electric power into our site so that we could power the pop-up It could be powered without the use of batteries or generators most of the time. The pop-up is still there Originally, the cabin came with a hook up plug, but it was too short to reach the cabin, so I bought this shorter one. The fact that it is a heavy duty plug that should last a long time makes me happy, but we had trouble attaching it to the outdoor receptacle on the cabin because the black ring surrounds it so it is too big to fit within the It is imperative the outlet be used with the protective cover in place if it is to remain safe to use regardless of the We are fortunate that my son came up with a solution to this problem since we do not intend for the plug to act as a screw-in attachment, which is what the black ring serves for. A pair of heavy duty shears allowed him to cut through the hard, black plastic ring. Once the plastic ring was removed, we were able to insert the plug correctly. To make sure other buyers pay attention to the outlet where this plug will have to be plugged in before purchasing, I am providing this information. It is possible that another company has a similar heavy duty plug that fits better and will not require "surgery" or special modifications. In any case, this is a great product.
Despite the fact that the product works as intended, the plastic screw connectors seem rather low quality & It is doubtful they will last for The product was also advertised with a glow in the dark stripe, which it does not have.
I liked the power cord because it looks great and doesn't mildew. Furthermore, there was an indicator light that showed your vessel is powered up to shore power. As soon as there is a need, I will repurchase.
It keeps tripping my dock breaker, it killed my boat's battery 2 after only being in use for a I lent a cord to my friend and there seemed to be no issue with the boat or the breaker.
Materials are good quality and the cover is nice and flexible, but it is still quite tough. There doesn't seem to be any wear on the plugs and therefore there shouldn't be any concerns.
I would be perfectly happy to do so. It's not easy to tell you, but it's true. I have never seen anything like this cable from west marine. Thank you for providing such a great product at a great price.
In addition to being reasonably priced, it has a strong feel to it. The Marinco feels more rubbery on its ends, whereas the current one has a little more plastic to it. I like that my power cord sticks out rather than resting on the dock because of the orange sheathing. There is no way to know until time passes.
