It was a perfect fit for my yamaha 60.
I'm not sure if it will scratch the cowl, but it shouldn't. When pulling the boat, I never use the cowl cover because the wind causes it to flap, potentially causing scuff marks.
China, and the color wore off quickly.

For a 2019 Mercury 9, I'm going to use this. The motor is 9 HP. The cover is a tight fit, so I have to lower the tiller handle so it points towards the boat's bottom to get it on. The cover will not cover the entire motor if the tiller handle is raised, and the carry handle will be exposed to the elements. I like the cover and wish there was only one book in the series. The diameter is 2 inches larger. It was stated in the description that it would fit engines up to 10 horsepower.
It's been 6 months in WA weather, from fall to spring, and it still looks brand new. Plus, on the rare occasions when the sun appears to be a threat, the kicker is kept out of the sun. Expect it to last a few years, but I already feel like I've gotten my money's worth out of it.
The rope had literally deteriorated in less than a year, fellow shoppers. Nothing is more aggravating than putting on your motor cover and then having it fall apart when you go to tighten the rope. br>I was able to reattach the cover to the motor after threading some new rope through it. That doesn't account for the additional time, effort, and money required to repair the problem after the rope deteriorated.
It was stained in several places, and it didn't appear to be brand new to me. I won't be able to send it back because I can't prove it. Just a little disappointed!.
My outboard is a 5 horsepower, and there's enough room for the cover and handle (tipped up). It will serve us well this season, once we are able to get in the water. Everyone, stay in good health!.
This was purchased for a 70hp Force outboard motor, and it fits well, has a drawstring for tightening, appears to be of good quality, and is made of the same material as the seamander boat cover. Water beads up on the cover and completely covers the cowl; a simple design that will be updated as time goes on in terms of durability.
This cover is inexpensive, but it is clearly made to fit a variety of motors. Expect it to fit a little differently than a custom-made cover, and you'll be fine. I'm not sure how well it will withstand the elements; only time will tell.
For the plastic hose reel from Frontgate, I needed a weatherproof cover. It hasn't been given a cover. Without the cover, I'd get three years of use before the sun degraded the plastic, resulting in a $200 loss. I don't have to worry about it now, and it stays put while I'm using it. Your boat motor will be protected as well with this clever product. Just keep in mind to rinse off the salty water.
