While I'm not exactly sure how well it fits, I do know that it fits my MERC 15-horse outboard. It's a little loose, but what I remember is that it's made to be universal.
There is room for a 20 in it. My unit has some issues that I am not satisfied with, so I would consider finding another. My first experience with this sort of thing is not new. Having been boating nearly 30 years, I know a lot about the sport. This requires a somewhat special padlock, which I don't like. Merc doesn't exist as far as I know There seems to be no reason to not do so. You can use it with a 25 HP Johnson engine. one day after installing this motor lock was my outboard stolen by thieves in the night. They worked on the padlock itself, cutting it in two places - it blocked the hole into which the outboard was inserted. It did not look like a hacksaw, so I guess it was some kind of bolt cutter. With a cover on it, we used this lock with the trailered boat for about 2 months. There is already paint peeling off of the bar due to cracks in the paint. During my time with one of these, I used it for about 2 weeks. It has been five years since the last update. In the first year of use, the bar began to rust out and flakes of metal began to appear. You should spend a bit more money, because there are better options out there which will last longer. The black bar which goes over your outboard mounting screws will rust out really bad and begin to fall apart. The idea of this lock is good, but don't expect it to last.
