Questions & Answers

How can I find out which outboard motor fits the johnson 40 svo?

While I'm not exactly sure how well it fits, I do know that it fits my MERC 15-horse outboard. It's a little loose, but what I remember is that it's made to be universal.

Is this compatible with the Mercury 20hp fourstroke from 2016?

There is room for a 20 in it. My unit has some issues that I am not satisfied with, so I would consider finding another. My first experience with this sort of thing is not new. Having been boating nearly 30 years, I know a lot about the sport. This requires a somewhat special padlock, which I don't like. We will have to address that If I were you, I would get one whose lock you provide. I think it needs to be replaced as it is less than a year old and showing rust, around

Is it possible to fit a 25 hp Mercury in it?

Merc doesn't exist as far as I know There seems to be no reason to not do so. You can use it with a 25 HP Johnson engine. It is important that the clamps that hold the motor on the transom have those triangular "handles" that enable them to be tightened- Small outboards seem to have them pretty much everywhere

Additionally, this product has a second handle that makes carrying the engine easy
5/5

It was delivered on time and was well presented. A 9 year old bought it for me. The 8-cylinder Tohatsu is for use with The bar itself is substantial and seems to be made of metal that has been coated with a vinyl-like material. This cannot be taken off without a cutting tool, as opposed to other opinions There is no flex in it. The lock itself is brass, with a U shaped shackle with connection notches at both ends of the shaft this lock also has another handle to carry the engine. It has the key hole at the bottom In order to install the lock, the keyhole must be in the downward position Unlike other locks, both lock and shackle are recessed into the bar, making it difficult to remove or alter. A little Breakfree gun oil was used to lubricate the lock, which made it operate Despite the fact that one of the legs is longer than the other, the shackle only goes in one direction By lining up the lock with the shackle, you will probably be able to line up the lock more easily. As is, without the dampening strips (3), the bar can be easily fitted As a result of the dampening strips, the bar might When the three adhesive backed dampening strips are added, it takes a little while to get them in the bar, but they result in a snug fit that cuts down on rattles. In addition to the plastic end caps, there is a metal logo at the bottom of the packaging. This fool who tries to grab something quick deserves to be pity. You're a happy camper, happy with your dough.

Despite its purpose, it did exactly what it should have done
4/5

one day after installing this motor lock was my outboard stolen by thieves in the night. They worked on the padlock itself, cutting it in two places - it blocked the hole into which the outboard was inserted. It did not look like a hacksaw, so I guess it was some kind of bolt cutter. No matter how completely they cut the shackle, they were unable to pry out the padlock. On the locking bar, they cut and twisted the metal to create it Despite removing all this destruction and removing the motor from the outboard, I was unable to free it up enough to remove it. I found all this destruction in the morning, but the motor was still there. Even though the padlock and the locking bar have both been destroyed, the Motor Lock was able to prevent the crooks from obtaining There is room for improvement, as maybe it needs to appear more secure, so that crooks will not even hesitate to try - I rate it 4 out of 5 stars. Saving me the trouble of replacing the lock and saving me another $30!.

It is coated with a defective material

With a cover on it, we used this lock with the trailered boat for about 2 months. There is already paint peeling off of the bar due to cracks in the paint. There may have been a problem with the paint being applied to the steel when it was not cleaned before being painted. I expect the POS to be rusted by the beginning of.

This lasted only a few days

During my time with one of these, I used it for about 2 weeks. It has been five years since the last update. In the first year of use, the bar began to rust out and flakes of metal began to appear. I really started to feel the onset of the disease after two years. The lock I will use this time is a stainless steel lock.

Several months after installing the padlock, it has fallen off
3/5

On the way, the padlock fell off the bar after it was locked and on the bar. This waste of money for me ended up being a waste of money because I couldn't find a new padlock that would fit the bar. It seems the seller never got back to me after trying to contact.

This product is not suitable for use in It took 6 months before my tender locked up after being submerged in salt water for 6 months

You can cut it through with an old hack saw in less than a minute. It was jammed and it didn't help with the WD40.

Don't let your investment go to waste! It does what it is supposed to do
5/5

As a warning, if your kicker is placed in a cutout like mine, it may be very difficult to install. With a few adjustments and slight modifications, the product worked just fine. It has a decent locking mechanism and a good looking design.

This problem is caused by rust
3/5

You should spend a bit more money, because there are better options out there which will last longer. The black bar which goes over your outboard mounting screws will rust out really bad and begin to fall apart. The idea of this lock is good, but don't expect it to last.
