Questions & Answers

I'm not able to see both sides at the same time. Will you be able to connect your hydraulic lines to your motor?

Bert, No! Only the trim pump motor is included in this package. It isn't the trim pump itself that is causing the problem. You'll need to replace the broken motor in your existing trim pump with this motor. We spent a couple of hours disassembling the old trim pump system, removing the motor, integrating the new motor with the old pump, and re-assembling the system. Connect all of the solenoids before reconnecting it to the boat. What is the best piece of advice I can give? 1. Go to YouTube and look up hydraulic trim pump motors, for example. I came across a video that walked me through the entire procedure. As you disassemble your existing system, take pictures of it. That way, when it's time to put everything back together, you'll know which solenoid goes where, and so on. Keep an eye out for the drive key in the pump body, as well as the "O" ring that seals the pump motor inside the body. Finally, if your boat is an older model, your pump motor may have two (2) fairly long screws that run from the motor's top to the pump. These long screws are no longer used in this new motor. You'll need to go to the hardware store and purchase a pair of screws (we used stainless allen head screws because there's no room for hex, flat, or phillips head tools in the opening under the pump motor). To make the allen wrench work, we had to grind off half of the short end. It was also crucial to consider the screw length. I'm not sure, but I believe we chose 1. Shorter screws wouldn't go deep enough into the pump body to pull everything together without risking stripping threads in the pump body, so we went with 5" (maybe a little shorter) length screws. That was the most difficult aspect of it all. The good news is that it is very effective and has saved us nearly $600. 00, which is the current market price for a trim pump and motor combination.

Is there a way to ground this motor through it? I had to run a ground wire directly from the battery to get the motor to work. ?

My Tahoe is a 2008, and the solenoid grounds it.

A Mercruiser 5 is the boat I own. 0 inboad is the number of people who have downloaded something. Is this something that can be used? It is, according to the part number, but I see that HP goes up to 200?

I'm hesitant to give an answer without more information (year, model, and oe number from the original). Marine units are far too dangerous to research without more information to narrow down the options. Please provide more information, as my information indicates that it is for outboard motors and your notes indicate that it is for inboard motors.

I'm a 4 on a scale of one to ten. Will this item fit a 3 v6 mercruiser engine with a serial number of 309850?

It should work if the drive is an Alpha one. My old one was replaced with a 3. mercruiser alpha one drive (0 mercruiser)

, 1985 I despise the fact that this power trim motor is out of stock and may never return. Although it is older, it is required for my 150hp black max mercury. I can't get to the fish because they're jumping into the boat. If you restock or acquire one, please contact me.

Thank you, Amazon, and a special thanks to my husband. 1554 was on the verge of being ripped off. This motor was purchased for $00 from a well-known camping rv dealer and repair company. @*& %¥. It's not a pleasant world out there. Thanks to Amazon and my husband's screw turns, our motorhome's slide out is better than ever.
