There are two places where screws or bolts can be used to fasten it to a wall or other object. This fan is not all that quiet, but it is not obnoxiously loud either.
I found the motor to be loud, unbalanced, and the casing to be not seated fully. It had to be taken apart to fix it, so that it was not too heavy and vibrating too much.
However, it is loud and does not work.
If it came with stainless mounting screws I would have been more happy about my purchase.
It is too loud for me, but that may be due to the technology. My DIY cooler uses this blower and has been doing a great job so far. It has only been a couple of days, but the DIY cooler has dropped room temperatures by 5 degrees within a day. A noisy blower is all it is.
