I try to remember the following two rules:
1. I'm no match for my weapon. br>2. I can't hit what I can't see. br>I recently acquired a 70-year-old 70-year-old 70-year-old 70-year-old 70-year-old 70-year-old 70-year I'm shooting a ish year old 22lr Army training rifle, and it's shooting so well that it's making me think I know what I'm doing. I've been shooting it a lot, and these targets help me make the most of my range time. "Shoot small, miss small," the father tells his sons in the movie The Patriot. " Every trip out, shooting these small targets helps me improve my shooting skills. I'd rather fire 5 or 10 rounds at several small targets than 100 at a single large target. When I look at the results, I learn a lot more about my shooting because there are so many small ones.
Splatterburst targets are among the best available. If you shoot at an outdoor range and can't walk down to see your targets after a few shots due to the heat, these are for you. If you shoot indoors, these are for you as well. They depict a nice hole in the target with a splash of green color where it was hit. If you use a cardboard backer, you can stick multiple splatterburst targets on it because some of them will peel off. I usually bring several guns to the range so that I can shoot at multiple splatter targets without having to switch targets. They also sell cover stickies to cover the bullet holes, which are very useful. I like that they come in a variety of sizes, so you can set up a few on a cardboard backer for precision shooting.
I bought these targets to practice with BB pistols, and they work great. br>br>All I do is peel them off the backing sheet and stick them to the side of a cardboard box (from Amazon or anywhere else!). Grin! ) Place the box on top of an inverted plastic outdoor trash can, stand back 10 to 12 feet, and fire. br>br>The targets are small, but even for a geezer with old eyes, seeing them from 12 feet or less isn't a problem. Each shot from that distance SHOULD hit your target somewhere. If it doesn't, you shouldn't be shooting in the first place. If it does, you'll be able to see exactly where it hit without having to squint. br>br>My only issue with the company was that they sent me an email asking me to "Please review our product" - TINY TINY PRINT, as if only 25-year-olds were expected. year- olds to read it, or else they'll have to use a magnifying glass to read it. It's as if they don't give a damn who they send their messages to. Still, it was most likely an oversight or simply carelessness. (And don't tell me I can zoom in on the email - I already know how to do that. ) That's a pain in the neck, and it's their problem, not mine, to make it readable. )br>br>The targets themselves were fine, and they're good value for money. I'll probably buy from them again, but if I get another microprint email, I'll delete it without reading it.
The seller emailed me a couple of days after receiving these targets to ensure that I had received my order and was 100% pleased. That's a very large tome. I am certain that I will purchase more of these in the future. Even better, I have a "list" of stocking stuffers for my family to choose from each Christmas. These targets are on that special list, along with pellets for feeding my Airguns.
These are ideal for air rifles; the private range where I shoot employs corrugated plastic signs as target backers, so you can simply stick these on and shoot. What's nice is that the red centers on these 2" targets are 1 MOA at 50 yards, and they also make a 1" version that's 1 MOA at 25 yards.
These are great stick-on targets that leave a visual ring when they're hit. I primarily use them to shoot pistols. My range day begins with some precision, so I tape one of these two-inch targets to my larger cardboard target at 10 yards and fire an eight-round group. The majority of the time, everyone is within 2 inches of the target. I then put on at 20 yards and go through the group again. Normally, all eight rounds are either in the 2 inch group or just outside of it. After that, I do speed shooting, movement drills, and other USPSA-style drills. I then finish up my practice with the same accuracy drills that I started with, but this time I try to shoot them at a faster pace with a sub-microsecond trigger. I also use these at 5-second split times. br>br> I draw, shoot two rounds, reload, and then shoot two more rounds into the two-inch target at a distance of 7 yards. When you're going fast, it can be quite difficult.
Some people may find it too small. These two-inch sticks Splatter targets are exactly what I wanted and expected, and they're a lot cheaper than other brands (400 target spots for $14 as of 11/16). br>br>The targets have all of the "Stick" required to stay on under large caliber gunfire, and the splat effect is nearly identical to the image on the item listing. I've only had these for a few weeks, so if the stick degrades as my spot package ages, I'll update the review. Depending on range, eyesight, and ability, some shooters may prefer the larger targets, as these 2" spots can be small at 10 yards or more where I place them. I don't mind the size because I prefer a taller counter to one with a larger diameter.
I adore these little stickers because they instantly turn anything into a target. I didn't have nearly as much free time as I had hoped to play with these. However, I hung one of these on the wall of my workshop, which is insulated with a 1" thick foam board. For my 700fps bb gun pistol, that was an excellent surface/backstop. Anyway, these "exploded" in the same way that the listing image did, making it easy to see where I hit. Naturally, keeping track of your hits becomes difficult after a while, particularly if you keep hitting the same spot. But that's the beauty of having so many stickers: you can always switch to a new one and start over!.
