There is an enormous thumb hole in them. There is a good video overview of these pads on YouTube from ANS.
In my experience, I'm 6'1" 145 lbs, skinny arms, and a medium is comfortable for me the backs are incredibly stretchy, so I'd expect the sizes to be the same for you I would imagine the only difference is in length.
This pad does not have as many layers as the Freeflex, it does not have the small pad on the back of the hand, and the sleeve is made of a different material than that of the Freeflex
As a skate, I would not use this. It won't protect you from a fall, in my opinion.

I'm happy with the purchase. Honestly, I researched Paintball elbow pads for a long time before purchasing these and I'm very pleased with the product. What sold me is that they don't have a rubber band around the elbow. Below is a list of Dye's Due to my clothing style, the sleeves go further up my arms, so I prefer this type of shirt Having my shirts on under the socks when I play, and the fact that the hand loop was not padded allowed me to wear my gloves, which I love, but I was unsure if this would pose a problem with dyes, and from what I read most people did that. As much as I wish these had the wrist strap like the dyes, to be honest, after wearing the socks I don't believe it was essential. The color "Black/Grey" was nice despite being a little less bright than I expected. 5'9" and 180 lbs, fitted good with the Medium/Large, not too tight or loose, and not too small. It is highly recommended that you use Exalt, as their products are generally excellent.
Despite the fact that they have held up well, the build quality seems to be good. There is nothing that surpasses the quality of Exalt products.
an AMAZING amount of tension The shoe does not slip off your foot and does not bind when you play. Diving is so much easier with them on and the fact that you forget you are wearing them makes diving a lot more pleasant. I strongly recommend these pads to anyone who is on the fence about them.
There is not as much room in the medium/large as I originally thought. However, I haven't had a chance to play with them yet, but they look and feel great. I don't like that the medium/large fit too tight around the forearms (I guess they don't fit well around my arms), but overall they fit It will be a pleasure to play Quality of the highest order.
Feels so nice, plus it provides some protection for your hands so They are so comfortable that I could sleep in them.
I would have liked some sort of strap or adjustment for above the elbow or at the wrist, because the pads do tend to move a bit over the course of a day. However, they are otherwise excellent. These gloves are well constructed and offer good protection in all the right places. They do not pinch or restrict movement, and the half gloves are quite handy. Also, I like the fact that they go high up the arm, as you can wear a t-shirt under them on hot days It allows you to wear a shirt while still covering your arms.
I purchased these to go snowboarding and found that they were great. It provided excellent protection for falling, which I did a great deal because I was a new boarder. The weight of my body is 160 pounds and I am 5'10". I was able to wear the s and mediums together perfectly.
