This is not the same as normal BDU pants with drawstrings. Similar to the retractable Velcro systems on jackets, they also have a Hook and Loop (Velcro) style adjustment system. As well as the ankle adjustment, there is a calf adjustment.

The medium is probably the best choice. I love how well this outfit fits. This is the first time I've worn pants that can be adjusted. It has a little drawstring attached to each side, which is easily hidden in a small velcro pocket. That way, you can adjust the height of the knee pads. The height of me is 6' 2" The uniform was purchased in XL size for 2'11" and 200 pounds. It has a good fit and is long enough. It is comfortable and the waist is wide enough. My only complaint is the shirt would be a bit longer, but overall I'm satisfied with the fit. Despite the knee pads not being removable, the pants are really good quality and have a very good quality. However, I have not had the time to test it out in the field yet, but I am confident it will perform well.
Because of the reviews, I was unsure of the sizing. My height is 5'7" and my weight is 140 pounds. I chose a small, I have a 30" waist. The pants are a 30 exactly, if I were bigger, they would not Honestly, the pants are pretty good all around, and the kneepads can be removed so you can wear them without them as well. My recommendation is to order them if you are looking for quality.
The camo color is right on. My boyfriend loves these for hunting. The camo color is perfect, the size and shape are just as I described, and the emerson Gen 3 is exactly what I expected it to be. There's just one thing I didn't realize, when I read reviews - I normally wear a small, but I had to order a large that fitted me.
This item is of great quality for the price. Very comfortable and durable, they compare very well to my LBX bdus, but the price is about half as high. These are in fact Emerson G3's. I wouldn't know why anybody would leave a bad review since I would definitely recommend it.
The uniform set that I received is of very high quality. As a product of a size large wearer 6'1" 190 lbs and 5'9" 190 lbs, my measurements are 5'9" by 190 lbs so I ordered the XXL, the shirt and pants fit nicely. It is made from excellent quality materials and workmanship. Be sure to follow the size chart and order a size or two up from your usual size. I also like the fact that the knee pads are easy to take off and put on.

I found the US medium shirt to be just fine, but found the 32-inch shirt a little tight Despite the 34" waistband, the pants were too tight on the groin region. Though the pants were slightly short, they were still very comfortable. A nice bonus is the free knee pads that come with it. The material is high quality. Even if you are a regular US size, you should probably buy one size up.
