In case any of you are interested in size reference photos, since I was unable to find a backpack small enough for my four year old, but still large enough for school supplies, I thought I would share tons of them. I bought the pink Puma backpack at Target, and it is a few inches larger than the one pictured. We bought the black, gray, neon green one I found the size to be just right for my pre-teen a son of about eight years old There will be room for spare clothes and water bottles, but not books. One thing I don't like about it is the mesh back, but it's a pretty standard material used on backpacks.

I am well satisfied with how it fits and will continue to use it for several There are pockets in the front within the bottom pocket, which we did not expect. We like that they can hold pencils and other small items. Our initial thought was that there would be a small pocket on the front, however it reaches all the way down (see photo). As far as I can tell, it seems to be sturdy.
While at the store, my 9YO son was looking at a Puma bag that was more expensive. Since he didn't really need a bookbag, I suggested we look on Amazon instead. As a result of the good price for this one, I surprised him with it and he immediately switched over to this bag. In comparison to a traditional bookbag, the bag is a bit smaller. Five notebooks, a few folders, three binders and a pen are typical items he carries There are four paperback books, two pencil cases, and a lunch box, and it is tight to fit all that (sometimes it feels like we are playing Tetris trying to fit it all in). There are no signs of strain on the zippers or straps despite all the stuff he carries, so it appears to be well made. It makes me happy to know this purchase makes my son happy.
SINCE SEPT of this year, MY 7 YEAR OLD SON has been using this backpack every day. I AM QUITE PLEASED WITH THE WAY CLASSES HAVE held up so far this year. THERE MAY BE A CHANCE WE GET TO CREAT A NEW SCHOOL YEAR.

I bought this for my nine year old son and it fits perfectly. There is no need to worry about the "one size" description, since this backpack is a normal size. All the necessities can be accommodated in this spacious apartment. The place is nice and the beds are comfortable. Despite the shoulder straps being cushioned, they are still modest in size. No other word but praise can be said about this product. I would encourage anyone to buy it.
