Questions & Answers

Never before had I played with cards that were sheathed. Do the plastic corners itch or cut your hands when you hold them? Is it a problem for those who have attempted it?

I adore Dragon Shield sleeve designs! These slevees are extremely comfortable to hold and allow for extremely smooth and safe shuffling. These slevees have never cut my hands or caused them to itch in my experience.

Is it possible to see the card's backside through the purple matte sleeves?

Hello Justin,br>br>Unfortunately, with the purple matte sleeves, you will not be able to see the back of the card; however, you can experiment with bright colors such as yellow. br>br>Thank you for your time and consideration; we hope you find this response useful.

Some say they're the best, while others claim they make a lot of bad batches and turn cloudy. Is it one of these? I'm not sure which one to get! ?

Both the matte and regular versions are in my collection. By far the best and easiest to shuffle are the mattes. They are, however, a little thicker, so if you already have a deck box and it fits perfectly, you might want to stick with the regular version. br>By far, the matte is superior.

Is it possible that they are transparent?

They don't show through.

I learned a lot about double sleeving from these tips
5/5

I recently purchased these sleeves to double-sleeve my modern mtg deck, but I'd heard a few complaints about dragon shields being frustrating and difficult to sleeve doubley (is that a word? ), and I wanted to address some of those complaints based on my experience with these, because I've found a few workarounds. I was walking around and noticed a few things that I wish I had known before starting the sleeving process that would have made it a lot easier. able and willing to assist you in getting the best sleeves available, as well as the added security of double sleeving. Here are a few sleeving hacks I came up with. (for the inner sleeves, I used KMC Perfect Size)br>br>1. Push the sleeved card into the second sleeve using a hard surface - So the most common problem I had was that when I pushed the sleeved card into the second sleeve, it would slide out of the inner sleeve and into the bottom part of the second sleeve, leaving the card exposed. So there would be a floppy, empty inner sleeve at the top of the final double-sleeved card, which you couldn't force into the Dragon Shield sleeve because it couldn't hold a solid card any longer. One solution was to flip the card over halfway through the second sleeve and push it evenly through the second sleeve with a table or something similar. This is much more difficult to describe in words than it is to demonstrate, but figuring it out will make sleeving a lot easier. 2. br>br>1. br>br>br>br>br>br The inner sleeves of KMC aren't always the same - If you have a card that is stubbornly slipping out of the inner sleeve as you push it through the Dragon Shield, try using a different KMC inner sleeve. It's amazing how frequently this was the case. The inconsistency was never on the Dragon Shield side in my testing, but always on the KMC side. I'd recommend purchasing extra inner sleeves so you can sort through all of the janky, oversized ones and save them for cards you need to ship or decide to sleeve with more generous outer sleeves. I kept mine for Ultra Pro Eclipse, which are a lot easier to double sleeve than Dragons but don't appeal to me as much. 3. br>br>4. br>br>5. br>br>6. You can make the sleeves a little longer if you want. kinda - I'm sure this isn't recommended by Dragon Shield or by ultra-conscientious players who want an absolutely perfect seal on their sleeved cards, but I discovered that if you have an inner sleeve that absolutely WILL NOT go into an outer sleeve (to reiterate, I am certain the issue here is the KMC being randomly a little bigger than average, not Dragon Shield being smaller), putting 2 or 3 unsleeved cards into the slee I devised a system in which I would stuff 5 Dragon Shields with 3 basic lands and set them aside while I put inner sleeves on a few cards, then remove the lands after a minute or two and insert my sleeved cards much more easily. Not so easy that I felt like I was completely deforming the Dragon Shield sleeve, but about as easy as an inner/outer sleeve pairing that happened to be randomly smooth and easy, which you'll come across a lot of along the way. 4. br>br> Sleeve as much as possible to allow air to escape, then re-sleeve later - If you don't want to stuff the sleeve to stretch a card/inner/outer sleeve combo, another way to stretch it is to double sleeve as best you can, even if there's a little wind sock of inner sleeve poking out the top, and then smoosh the cards under a stack of books for a few hours to force out the air, then unsleeve and resleeve I've discovered that pushing the air out not only flattens the sleeved cards, but also makes the inner and outer sleeves more agreeable with one another. When stacked as a library, I put books on my fished sleeves anyway to get that extra air out, and it makes the deck much smaller, flatter, and less likely to tip over. br>br>As a product review, I prefer Dragon Shield because they come in 100-count packages and are of very high quality compared to other brands I've tried. It doesn't hurt that they come in a wider range of colors than other brands, and the new purple ones are particularly striking. On the back, they have a metallic sheen to them, but they're still textured and nice, and I think they look great with a black deck. However, learning about the double-sleeved issue was almost a deal-breaker. For me, this is a deal breaker because I prefer to always double up to protect against potential water damage, and these sleeves would be useless if they weren't compatible with that.

Fabulous
5/5

Pros:
- Colors are vibrant and beautiful.
- Very clear, by far the best I've found for foils.
- IT DOESN'T GET SCRATCHED. For a long time, they appear as if they were brand new. br>- -br>Thickbr>-br>-br>-br Double sleeving is a good option.
- Fits sleeved cards and comes in a handy box. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product.
- In my opinion, the shuffle has a bad feel.
- It's a little more difficult than KMC to double sleeve, but it's doable.
- Because the sleeves are thin, your deck is as well. It's also more difficult for me to shuffle because I have small girl hands. In a deck box, this means your deck will take up more space. If you're going to do double sleeving, you'll need a bigger deck box. For standard 60-card decks, I use the Ultimate Guard Deck Case 80, and for commander 100-card decks, I use the Ultimate Guard Deck Case 100.

Thank you, Amazon, for outperforming the product company in terms of customer service! This is more of an Amazon review and a bad experience that turned into a good one
3/5

I adore dragon shield sleeves and have eight of them in various colors. This box had a lot of issues. Every sleeve was different in length and width, with some being taller or shorter than others. It wasn't until you put them in a deck box that it became apparent. As a result, some of the sleeves were too big to fit in the deck box when I finished. When I emailed Dragon Shield about it, I was told that you get two. The fact that there are three extra sleeves in the box should solve the problem. That won't help if each and every sleeve is messed up! I contacted Amazon, and they promptly dispatched a replacement, which I received the following day. I've never had a problem like this before, but I was extremely dissatisfied with Dragon Shield's customer service; Amazon gets 5/5 stars!.

After less than a week, the sleeves are already splitting! *EDIT: After only three weeks of use, more than 30 of them had split at the corners
3/5

I'm not sure if I got a bad batch or what, but it was absurd. After doing some research, I decided to purchase some Ultimate Guard Katana sleeves. They feel a lot better than Dragon Shields right away. They shuffle a lot more easily and catch a lot less. If they don't have the same splitting issues as the other brands, they'll be my new favorite. br>br>*ORIGINAL REVIEW: Dragon Shields was once the most popular MTG sleeve brand. It's something I've always done. After about 4 years of use, the sleeves of my favorite EDH deck began to split, so I decided to buy some new ones and re-assemble the deck. completely encase it in a sleeve I've only had them for a week and half of them have already split! I'm not sure what's going on or if they've changed their manufacturing process, but it's extremely inconvenient. They used to be such a dependable brand as well.

The quality of the sleeves has deteriorated significantly
3/5

For years, I've been buying Dragon Shield sleeves exclusively. Any card game (Netrunner, Magic, SWLCG, Table Top) is acceptable. They're one of my go-to sleeve options when I'm playing. I've had three bad experiences with Black Matte, Purple Matte, and Blue Regular in the last year. Both the purple and black matte sleeves are so sticky that they're unplayable. I can't even shuffle them, and looking through the cards is impossible. The purple ones were also poorly cut, resulting in a variety of sleeve sizes. Over a year ago, I bought purple mattes, and they were fantastic. They shuffled smoothly and were all cut in the same way. On the edges of the blue sleeves, there was a great deal of extra plastic. I compared all of these items to ones I purchased years ago, and their sleeves appear to have a serious quality issue. I hate to say it, but unless the producer provides an explanation and guarantees that the quality issues have been resolved, I will be looking for other sleeves in the future.

Quality control is shockingly poor
3/5

Is Dragon Shield using Amazon to offload defective product? I've purchased six sets of these sleeves in various colors, and three of them have been completely useless. Edges are constantly catching, making shuffling impossible, and they fail the stretch test on a regular basis; they feel hardened and dry; perhaps they're just poorly stored. In any case, given their reputation, I've lost all faith in Dragon Shield sleeves.

It turned out to be a wonderful present

This was a Christmas present for my son-in-law. It was something he had requested, and he was delighted with it. As a result, he stated that it was a good purchase.
