It's only an inch off the ground, and the beam is incredibly strong. I'm not sure how heavy it is, but our entire family of five can stand on it and it doesn't bow in the least.
This item is only available in one size, which is 8 feet long. The size numbers you see correspond to the number of case packs in your order. @Miranda rainwater, This beam does not have any additional risers.
No, the material in which it is wrapped would most likely deteriorate. It's in the garage where we keep it.

A piece of long, rectangular pleather stapled to the beam serves as the bottom cover. Staples are strewn all over the place. There are some needle-like structures hidden in the gap created by the staples (into the pleather). as if you were shaving metal They have razor-sharp edges and will sever your flesh. You won't notice anything until the sharp pain hits your brain because it's all hidden beneath the cushiony suede. After my wife was cut while moving the beam (fortunately, it wasn't my daughter), I discovered two more needle-like objects. as if they were metal shavings Each one is about 3 millimeters in length. With those metal shavings as proof, this is officially the most dangerous and frightening product to use, as you never know when the metal shavings will poke out of the suede or pleather and cut you.
It's very simple to put together. It's heavy enough to be stable but light enough to move around the house with ease. My daughter adores it and gets a lot of use out of it every day. I highly recommend it; it is reasonably priced in comparison to other beams, and it will not disappoint your young gymnast.
My young daughter is a level 4 gymnast, and despite the fact that I competed in three sports as a kid, my practice schedule pales in comparison to the amount of time she spends in the gym each week. . . and even that isn't enough for her. In addition to mandatory practice, the sport is an important part of her daily routine. . . even walking handstands or cartwheels are used to get around the house. It seemed only natural to provide a gymnastics tool at home, and the TUMBL TRAK ADDIE BEAM proved to be a practical solution for young gymnasts practicing on one of the more difficult apparatuses (unless your living room can accommodate a set of uneven parallel bars. . . or a vaulting run way). br>br>WHERE TO GET IT: br>br>WHERE TO GET IT: br>br> br>br>Let's start with the basics: Two "legs" with attachment hardware and a tool are attached to a covered bar. The beam is completely covered in a synthetic suede that mimics the look and feel of the gym's regulation beams. The "legs" are 12" long steel plates with rounded edges and a purple rubber coating. There are two places on each end of the bar where the legs can be attached (for proper weight distribution, depending on the athlete's size). The hardware used to attach the legs is heavy duty (even the Allen wrench that comes with it is heavy duty), so once they're on, you can count on them to stay put. The beam is assembled and ready to use in less than 10 minutes (the majority of that time is spent removing the parts from their protective wrapping). THINGS TO THINK ABOUT BR>BR>THINGS TO THINK ABOUT BR>BR>THINGS TO THINK ABOUT BR Consider the following FIG (International Federation of Gymnastics) beam requirements if you're thinking about getting a regulation practice balance beam for your home:
- Length: 16 ft.

- Aside from being simple to put together, the beam has a low profile and can be slid behind a couch or angled underneath a bed for storage.
- The wood beam is solid in every way and has rounded edges and corners. All visible surfaces of the beam are covered in synthetic suede, which is stapled to a sheet of vinyl beneath it with heavy-duty staples. staples for heavy-duty use There is no exposed wood, and the entire visible surface of the beam is seamless (except for the bar ends, which are solidly and neatly stapled). In terms of appearance and feel, every aspect of this beam is comparable to that of a standard beam.
- The support legs are an excellent feature. The legs are thin and flat enough to keep the beam close to the ground (approximately 12" elevation). They're big and long enough to keep the beam from tipping over. The rubber coating on the legs is also a big plus because it keeps the beam in place on almost any floor surface. If stepped on with bare feet, the flat/thin design combined with the rubber coating makes it safer and more comfortable.
- The length is ideal for young gymnasts to practice skills such as cartwheels, back walkovers, wolf turns, and a variety of other important elements on the balance beam. A mat could be added for added safety, but the low elevation makes it easy for an adult to spot the athlete performing more difficult skills. br>br>The TUMBL TRAK ADDIE BEAM is a great practice tool for any young gymnast who wants to improve their beam skills. This is a practical and well-made device with common-sense features. safety features to be aware of Everything this beam has to offer impresses me.
Be careful who you buy from. This item did not come with any hardware. My daughter's birthday present isn't working, and I'm extremely frustrated. That's something I'll have to explain to my 6-year-old.
I would have given it five stars if my delivery had not turned into a customer pick-up, leaving me in the lurch and incurring an additional cost because they said it was too large to deliver and wouldn't fit in their vehicles. I'm not sure what I got for my money at the time. The beam itself is sturdy and soft, and it has the same feel as the gym's competition beams. It is a hit with my daughter! We don't have enough experience with it to rate its durability.
The beam is fantastic in and of itself, but I was initially disappointed to see a large gash in the leather. Because the packaging was undamaged, the beam had to have been packed in this manner. Tumbl Trak, the manufacturer, was fantastic when I contacted them. They took care of the problem quickly, sending us a brand new beam as well as a return label so we could return the damaged item. Excellent customer service, as well as a fantastic beam!.
Extremely durable. I bought two and found that having two, in addition to putting them end to end, allowed me to create a variety of configurations. I put them on blocks and line them up parallel to each other for locomotor skills, using heavy-duty, well-made balance beams with sturdy "flat" feet.
This beam is a favorite of my ten-year-old gymnast! It's very sturdy and has the same feel as a standard beam. It's simple to set up and move, and it's not too heavy. Great product; everything appears to be well-made and capable of withstanding repeated use, which it will!.
