Selected User Reviews For GoSports LED Light Up Sports Cones (6 Pack), 9"
There is a design flaw in these devices that results in the batteries draining too quickly, and they also turn There is also an issue with the metal frame that holds the batteries shorting them out, as well. As you take a volt-meter to the batteries, you'll find that the top battery dies extremely fast (it will be dead when you arrive). It is only the bottom battery that is providing power since the top battery has shorted out. It has been recommended in other reviews that the metal sides of the product be bent inward so that the batteries can make contact. I strongly discourage you from doing this. Having the top battery run out is what causes the short. By shorting out that battery, both the bottom and top batteries can be bypassed. I am happy to report that a quick fix can be found for this problem. Apply nail polish to the inside sides of the 3 metal pieces shown above (the indicated spots in the The top big flat piece should not be painted. It is possible to tape over the short to prevent it. Paint will prevent this. It is up to you what After you've done this, be sure to replace the dead battery on the top of your cell phone. As a result, it will be extremely dark.
The following has been updated I am posting my original review below, and while I do stand by it, I must say the GoSports company responded quickly to my concerns, and is currently sending out replacements to me. The possibility exists that I got a 'lemon' batch (let's hope so). As soon as I have the chance to try the new ones, I will update this post. Though this imported company appears to have other good products, these glowing cones fail to live up to expectations. Just three out of the six cones were functional, and those were temperamental as well. Due to the fact that this product was going to be unreliable and frustrating, I decided to return them and stick with using flashing bike lights under regular cones instead. This product is awesome and they even include an additional battery set, which I really liked. However, that extra battery will be ineffective if the device does not function.
Waiting a while before writing is a good idea for me. They are cones that I bought a couple of years ago and they have been The product has lasted for quite some time, and it still works great. I like to wait before writing a review to see if the product is still useful after a while. During my free time, I play ultimate frisbee with my friends with these. Using them at night is an excellent way to mark the field. Their brightness can be seen from across the field, and they last for a long time until the batteries need to be changed, which is simple When they get hit by the disk or kicked, they will go out, but that is simple enough to resolve by using the same button to bring them back online again. Sometimes, I don't have any choice but to hit them with my hand in order to get them going again. In summation, my overall experience with these markers has been good, and I recently invested in more so that I can mark back to back ends to my end zone.
There are only a few cones that are difficult to turn on, due to their shapes. I think that kids will enjoy playing with this item As well as using them to play soccer, they also use them just to have around the yard for other games. The tops of some of them can be easily turned on by pressing them. It is almost impossible to achieve some. You have to remove the light piece to press on. After you have opened the lid, press the top.
These were the 12 products I bought in August of last year. It appears all of them are still in good working order and I believe they are using One other reviewer indicated that they experienced battery shorting issues. I'm pretty sure we haven't had the same issue. The cones are said to not work in some other reviews, or there are finicky battery connections in some. The design and functionality of these devices seem to be poor. With a little messing around with the battery cap, they work pretty much around here and once turned on, they stay on for the most part unless they are knocked pretty hard. I gave them 4 stars because of the battery connection issues. There is no better way to do this. There are four different colors of glow sticks on each team. In view of the fact that we sometimes have two games going, I would think about getting For one field to be marked out, I figure that a minimum of 10 cones may be needed. However, I believe 16 or 18 cones would be better.
When we played volleyball in the dark, we used them as markers to delineate our boundaries. You push the top and they light up. You push again and they are off. It is wonderful to have them for the youth activities so we can enjoy playing the game together.
A pair of sets were purchased to play ultimate frisbee in the evening. My favorite way to set the goal cones apart from the out of bounds cones is to set them to blink. I like how sturdy it is.
When I ordered them, I was a little sceptical- I have seen them at night and they do light up quite nicely. Despite being very heavy duty and able to hold up for some time, these cones come with batteries plus an extra set of batteries, which I didn't expect. Excellent quality.
