There isn't much in the way of Despite the pictures in which it seems to be thick, it is a clearly exaggerated claim

In a bike helmet, the hardening is built into the helmet's shape because the foam is soft and low density. The corner of the pole may keep you from bleeding if you hit the corner of the pole. I like the quality of the cover.
