It was an underwhelming My birthday present this year was an angle gauge after reading about them in the Beall and other digital angle gauges
3/5

The result is disappointing. It probably would have been better if I had quantified what I was talking about. To find out what 1 degree actually is, you have to buy I can set a 90 deg angle with the tilt box if I use the tilt box. A small gap between my machinists square and the blade, fence, etc. I see in this angle. The size of the image is astounding. Checking it with feeler gauges and running it several times, I got a run of good results. It is an increase of 3 over the figure of 008 over the previous year. It seems to me that that is a There is a 14° difference between the two. If that doesn't seem like much, keep in mind that the error is multiplied by two for every angle when you fit miters. There are four stacks of errors in this stack. I'm up in a multi-tasking environment If you have multiple sided objects, your total will be quickly increased. In spite of the fact that it was within specification. The gap would still be if the angle were off by 1 degree. The number is not excessive, but when I compare it with a machine's square or an adjustable draft triangle, I find an inaccuracy I never accepted in the past. I can get better results using a machine's square or an adjustable draft There is no need to buy batteries and it costs less money. Can it be that I got one that wasn't quite right? However, even if it does read within the specified accuracy, I cannot see much point in using It's always a pleasure to hear from you It should be checked in other ways as well. There would be no point in owning something that is not that accurate or doesn't have the advantages of my current method. This must be returned to the shop.

I find the Tilt Box cute, but it is When I bought the Beall Tilt Box , I was disappointed in its accuracy, repeatability, and sensitivity to changes My first try was to set the table saw blade to an angle of 90 degrees using the tilt box
3/5

However, a carpenter's square proved to be a much better measurement tool. It was far more accurate for me to find true level with my ordinary carpenter's bubble level than my tilt box. After first believing I had a flawed sample, I received a second one and again found the same problems, and speaking with the manufacturer was not successful. The Tilt Box, however, will certainly help me estimate angles that cannot be measured by my square, bubble level, or angle scale. One of the tilt boxes will go back with me because I'll probably find some other uses for it, but I don't consider it.

An angle gauge with a digital display
5/5

A tilting table saw I own from the 1960s comes with this angle gauge. I found peering under the table to look at the angles to be a hassle, and it was sometimes difficult to get the tables and blades back to 90 degrees after an angle cut. Despite being out of the box, the gage produced exactly what we needed. In the future I expect an even better result. For most illumination levels typical in a shop using that technology, the large readout is adequate. I checked a few simple accuracy checks and found it to be quite accurate. Our plans are to make use of it in rough openings for doors and windows in the interior of a building. The Hon. JB.

When the temperature is cooler, this device is no longer accurate
3/5

I did not receive a unit within the +/- range A temperature of 70 degrees F is 1 degree angle below that. 89 would be the result if it were tilted to the right. While the score was 85 (not too bad), if tilted to the left, the score shot up to I'll take 7 degrees as well. For an okay saw blade setup, this is unacceptable, and I would guess it would get worse as the temperature drops, as that was the pattern I observed. During about half the year, the temperature in my shop drops below 60 degrees. The tool is nothing more than a It doesn't make a difference what you use iGaging Angle Cube for I think they're even Buy nothing from this company and you will force these guys to create something useful. I am an electronics technician by trade, so I am confident they need to temperature compensate this type of device, but I know it will be more expensive.

Box tilted to one side
5/5

Before I learned about this product, I had no idea it A few weeks ago I discovered this item in an online woodworking web site and I had to get I can't think of a better option for setting up blade to table surface, and it certainly takes a lot of guesswork out of it. If you apply a square to the blade and eyeball its position, it beats setting a square against it. It wouldn't be the same.

It has only two buttons, which make the Beall Tilt Box very simple to use
5/5

In its intended purpose, the Tilt Box does just as it is supposed to. The angle between the table top and blade of my tablesaw is measured by this. My tilt box is made of metal, so that I am impressed with its quality. My hands feel solid when I hold it and I don't worry about it breaking when I attach my blade to it. Furthermore, it makes use of more readily available batteries than some of the other models in the market. To operate, press the 0 button and the tilt box will align with your tabletop after you turn it on. It is also very simple to use! Its main function is to detect the angular difference between the blade and the tabletop by attaching it to the blade. Every time you use this little box and your skills, you will create perfect joints.

It was developed by Bell and Company
5/5

Using this tool will allow you to make compound miters easily. When making the initial wood pieces for "Continuous Ribbons" and "Staved Bowls" we used this tool. If you do not want to spend a substantial amount of money on a compound miter saw, this tilt box and miter sled will be your only option for precise angle measurement. You'll save about $500 on the Dewalt Compound Miter Saw if you purchase both the tilt box and the digital miter angle indicator for around $100. For that decision, you do not need brain surgery.

The best tool for this job
5/5

Easy to use, with magnets built into the box, this box allows you to easily set blade angles on your table saw. An easy way to check angles is by using any object. I see that it is pretty rugged as well.
