Questions & Answers

Where can you find the loudest whistles with a five-star rating?

Windstorm comes in second place to Storm Whistle, both of which are made by the same company. Both whistles are designed to be blown underwater and are loud enough to be heard while diving. Windstorm is a little smaller and easier to hold on a lanyard, which I have on the whistle that I have in my mouth when I ride my bike; both whistles are designed to be blown underwater and are loud enough to be heard while diving. Drivers who are straying from the path are immediately stopped.

Whistle can be heard 3 miles away, according to Woman's World?

That's something I'm not convinced of - This whistle, on the other hand, can easily be heard from well over a half-mile away, if not further. This is the world's second-loudest whistle, coming in second only to the Storm whistle.

What are the dimensions of this product? How thick is it in particular?

I'm sorry, but I don't have this one anymore. I believe it was about a half-inch thick? It was very easy to keep one in my purse and one in my car, with the lanyard attached so you don't see the whistle but can grab the lanyard and pull it out if you need it.

Coyotes are common in my neighborhood. While walking my 17-pound dog two days ago, I came across one. Will a coyote be put off by this whistle?

A coyote will not be deterred by a whistle that does not bother your dog. Coyotes usually stay at least a few yards away from people. When I've come across a coyote, they've either run away or trotted away and watched me, rather than stalking me. Of course, a rabid coyote may not keep its distance. Whistling isn't as effective as throwing an object.

True, it's the world's second-most-loudest whistle
5/5

These are a little louder in the larger version. Even so, these are fantastic. I bought about eight different brands to see which one was the loudest, and the Storm and the Windstorm came out on top by a long shot. The fox40 was also quite nice; those who claim to be the loudest are simply lying; with a regular amount of blowing capacity, these are the loudest. br>The advantage of the Storm Vs this one is that it is not only a little louder but also easier to hold in your lips in an emergency. The advantage of these Windstorms is that they are smaller and almost as loud as the regular ones. br>The Windstorm, Storm, and Fox40 are the safest options. I put them through their paces on the field, and they're all incredible. Nothing else can be trusted with your life. I couldn't see my wife's arm going up and down to let me know she was still hearing the whistle with any of those three. On a distance scale, she was too far away. It was nearly a mile away. and I could still hear the whistle br>Another plus is that they make noise even if you aren't blowing very hard, allowing a child or an injured adult to blow and be heard (some of the other tested only make noise if you blow very hard). In an emergency, this isn't a good thing to do). br>br>If you look at the STORM, you can see my other review where I show pictures of all the other whistles I tried. br>I believe it is time for me to create a video. Nobody paid me to tell you that those three are the best, loudest, and easiest to blow. However, it has the potential to save someone's life, which is far more important than lying to sell a whistle. )br>Have fun and stay safe.

Great whistle, but it needs to be broken up
4/5

instead of a lanyard, use a lanyard. The whistles are incredible. The lanyards aren't made to be broken. We won't be able to use them because of the obvious safety concerns. I docked a point for the lack of effort. This is supposed to be a safety item, so it has a safe lanyard attached to it. What good is it if someone can choke you to death with the lanyard? The whistles were purchased as Christmas stocking stuffers. I warned adults and children that they should only use them in an emergency and that they should cover their ears if they ever have to use them. My daughter stated that she will bring hers with her when she goes hiking and jogging. I gave one to my elderly mother to use as a signal for help if she slips and falls on ice while walking her dog outside, and I gave one to my son, his wife, and their two sons to use when they go boating. I chose this whistle because I knew it worked when wet based on my research.

The cheap metal ring broke, and the whistle was almost lost
4/5

It's very loud and, as advertised, it works when wet. One star deducted because the rings that connect the whistle to the lanyard are made of cheap metal that corroded and broke after only a few months in a marine environment (inside a small yacht's cabin). Details can be found in the image. Fortunately, I caught it before heading out on the kayak, so the whistle did not end up in the water.

They work the same way whether they're wet or dry, and they're very loud
5/5

These whistles are loud and can be used anywhere, as described in the description. We're going to the beach with my eight grandchildren. Some people swim exceptionally well, while others are only average swimmers. I wanted everyone to have one in case they got into trouble while swimming in the ocean. br>br>Everyone used them in our pool; they went under water with them, came up, and were still able to use them. If you want to keep loved ones safe in a lake or ocean these are perfect dry or wet they work the same. br>br>I never thought of this when my own kids were young but hey these are my Grandkids a little more important hahabr>br>If you want to keep loved ones safe in a lake or ocean these are perfect dry or wet they work the same. br>br>If you want to keep loved ones safe in a lake or ocean these The cost was very reasonable. br>br>.

Backpacking and emergency supplies, oh my! I bought these to take with me on my backpacking trip, but I realized I needed them at home as well
5/5

A mesh bag containing emergency supplies is tied under the foot of each bed: I had a flashlight, shoes, and a particulate mask, but it wasn't until I retook my CERT class that I realized I didn't have a whistle. These things work in the water (we tested them with lifejackets) and are extremely loud in the air. So I went out and bought some more, as well as some long-lasting glowsticks. These are a low-cost precaution that could save someone's life in the event of an emergency in the home.

LOUD! I wanted a whistle that would summon help when I needed it for myself, my wife, and my sister, and I ordered more for friends once I had them
5/5

br>br>I also wanted them for uninvited phone sales calls that make me feel like I'm driving drunk. This is fantastic. Not flimsy, loud, easy to spot due to bright color, loud, comes with a lariat to wear around your neck, loud, and truly startles anyone in the vicinity. Gives you a chance you might not have had otherwise; excellent, and you can disregard the negative reviews.

I have one in my car beside the driver's seat, though it only appears to be the lanyard, one attached to a purse where only the lanyard tip is visible, and one in a jacket pocket
5/5

On my work badge, I have another. We thought it would be a good idea after the active shooter training we had to take at work. I now feel like a paranoid idiot, thanks to my home security system with cameras and motion detectors, panic buttons triggered by my cat's seizures, and my screamer on my person and car trunk (you pull it, it screams). It occurs to me that I should get in shape, which would most likely be my best chance of surviving a shooting, hurricane, flood, or earthquake. Purchase a whistle, but first get in shape by climbing a fence and running two blocks or climbing four flights of stairs. 😁.

Loud
4/5

In salt water, metal will corrode. These whistles are deafening! Great! br>br>Due to the metal/salt water interaction, the metal pieces of the lanyard will also become brittle. As a result, after you've finished your saltwater activity, make sure to rinse the whistle with freshwater. Instead, I tied the whistle to a strong string to keep it from corroding and then rinsed it with fresh water when I got home. br>br>It's amazing how well it works in the water! DEEP IN THE WATER!.
