I was the only one who raised the alarm. When I blew it full blast, people from 100 yards away turned to look, and I'm not sure what the decibel count was. It's a fantastic whistle, and I always have it attached to my PDF. It has been soaked numerous times and continues to function as if it were brand new.
Most states require an audible signal device on boats and personal watercraft.br> br>Airhead Safety Whistlebr> br> Clip a high-pitched pealess whistle to your life jacket or safety lanyard, and it doubles as a floating keychain!
Both whistles are ineffective - Oh, they're functional, but forego the cheap plastic loops in favor of something larger that you can clip to your PFD's zipper.
Yes, even if it's wet, you can use this whistle. This is what I use as my jetski rape whistle, and it works flawlessly.

This whistle gives me mixed feelings because it is very loud (to the point of hurting your ears) but it is only about the size of my thumb's first joint. Maybe it's because I have large hands, but I had high hopes for my $5. br>The real reason I took a star off my rating is because the lanyard, in my opinion, is too short. I had to scribble a D on the board. To blow the whistle, I have a ring on one of the shoulder traps of my PFD. I could have made a loop and snapped the lanyard to itself if the lanyard had been longer.
- Overall- If you need to draw attention to yourself, this is a good whistle to use.
am I? In fact, I'm more than likely to under-estimate. cautious. But why not take one of these with you when you go hiking, kayaking, camping, or, come to think of it, skiing? It's inexpensive, and the clip and flotation appeal to me. I like that it doesn't have the ball/pebble in it, so it can be used in water (I didn't realize the pebble wasn't necessary, but whatever). If you used it to get your campers to get up and shine, the entire campground would do the same, making you unpopular. I put it to the test at home at a time when I didn't think it would bother the neighbors, and it performed admirably; I'm going to buy a few more for my family and one for my ski jacket. This whistle is the final piece in the puzzle for me.
Whitewater kayaking required the use of a whistle. I've never had to use one, but most organizations will want/need you to bring one with you in case of an emergency. This product is inexpensive, loud, visible, and floats. Furthermore, the lanyard is simple to attach to the loop inside my PFD pocket. I can pull it out of the pocket without detaching it from my lifejacket and use it right away. It will float if it is ripped from its hook in any way, making it easy to recover. Finally, it is inexpensive to replace if it becomes completely lost. br>br>For anyone who requires a safety whistle, this is an excellent choice.
I'm pleased with this purchase, both in terms of quality and price; I ordered it in advance of a recent trip to Europe and clipped it to my PacSafe handbag - Pickpockets are known to prey on tourists at popular tourist attractions in big cities, so I brought a whistle with me in case one of them targeted us or others nearby. Thankfully, I never had to use it, but it was nice to have it just in case. The whistle has a piercing, loud tone to it. It's a little much for hailing a taxi, but it'll suffice if you need to attract attention or deter someone from bothering you.
As a result, Because they are overpriced, they have been docked a star. However, they are loud whistles that float and fit perfectly on my PFD when I'm out kayaking. Where I kayak, it's mandatory to use a whistle, horn, or other signaling device. I simply dangle it from my PFD so that I can grab it and whistle at any time.
I was concerned that it would turn out to be a low-cost, low-quality product. It's nice and loud, so I can wear it in the water with my life vest.
Sound quality is excellent, and it clips to any surface.
If you own a Jon boat in our state, you must have a whistle. It performs admirably and floats if dropped overboard.
