The instruction manual stated that D batteries were required, so I drove into town and bought them. They didn't, however, work. So I went to Amazon and looked at the listing, which stated that C batteries are required. As a result, I return to town, return the D batteries, and buy C batteries. br>br>The size of C batteries appears to be insufficient. I had to use paper to keep them in place until the cap was closed. Then holding the battery cap down is the only way to get it to turn on. Finally, it's turned on, and I'm able to yell obscenities at my friend from a safe distance. WRONG. br> br> I was worried about rupturing an eardrum when I took my hand off the battery cap to cover my ears and it started a feedback loop and screeched like a pterodactyl that had been lit on fire. br>br>Volume wasn't great, but that was to be expected for $13 worth of product. br>br>Overall, this was an unsatisfactory purchase. If I am unable to return it, it will be discarded.
Which, for the price, I wasn't expecting. I wanted something smaller to scare away people who are too rude and/or ignorant to realize that the bushes up against my apt wall outside do indeed cover an actual apt that someone lives in, and that they can't just sleep against my bedroom window or have block parties with their buddies all the time. I figured a loud siren and me telling them to piss off might work without me having to get dressed and go outside every damn time or calling the cops and wasting resources on stupid cr. It was simple to set up. br>br> It's as simple as purchasing four C batteries, correctly installing them, and turning the device on. I didn't test the siren at its maximum volume, but I did use the loud speaker to summon my cat. I'm sure he heard me, but he didn't respond because he's been acting like a jerk lately.
This megaphone has a reasonable volume. It was simple to set up, the color is vibrant, and it's less expensive; The sound quality, on the other hand, was not ideal, nor was it loud enough to be heard at the stated range. Words were muffled through it, and if there are people talking around you, it's even more difficult to hear the megaphone, even when you're yelling through it. I was attempting to use this in a school setting. Very let down. Sorry, but I don't recommend purchasing. Save your money and invest it in something better.
Both C and D batteries are required, according to the instructions. C and D are far too small, and D barely fits. br>br>Customer service claims that C batteries are required, but the second photo demonstrates how those "fit. " Neither size of battery produces a working product. br>br>.
I couldn't get it to work for me. They aren't particularly loud, which is precisely why a MEGAphone is required. LOUD was required to control crowds at a public gathering. These weren't loud enough to drown out the clamor of several hundred people. If you're dealing with a group of more than ten people, This isn't for you, 20 people. I would have preferred them if they were louder. I threw them away after only one use because they were useless.
It's ideal for waking up kids for home learning/remote learning, especially those who despise getting out of bed in the morning. To keep things in order, we even have some fun morning announcements, just like at school. If the kids can find it, I think they'll try to hide it, but hey, this wouldn't have been a necessary purchase if they got out of bed on their own and listened when I called for them. mom is the winner of the purchase.
During quarantine, I bought this while drunk and conversing with my friends at a house party, and it was shipped to a friend's house. We used it all weekend when we finally got together. Her neighbors, who were doing yard work at the time, took advantage of the opportunity to speak over them. Someone went inside for a beer and then used it to order more drinks. When I didn't feel like getting up to greet a newcomer to the party, I used it to greet them from afar. In addition, the siren feature was extremely useful. People setting off fireworks for the Fourth of July near her home activated the siren feature, and the fireworks came to a halt. Even if it was only for a few moments, it was well worth it. I would strongly suggest it.
This thing is fantastic for the price and what it's supposed to do. It runs on four C batteries and is quite loud, particularly the siren. It was purchased with the intention of being amusing in my classroom, and it has done so. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because it isn't as good as a larger, more expensive megaphone, despite the fact that I think it's fantastic for the price.
